McCarthy, a senior from Rockville, Md., helped Guilford extend
its winning streak to four straight games with a pair of conference
wins. McCarthy skirted the lines of a triple-double in a
74-54 triumph at Randolph. He was 8-of-12 from the field,
including 4-of-6 from deep, on the way to 20 points to go with a
career-best tying nine rebounds and seven assists. He also
registered a pair of steals. The game marked his third
straight with at least 20 points scored. He cashed out four
more three-pointers in a 71-56 win against Washington and Lee.
He finished with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists,
adding in two more steals and a blocked shot. McCarthy is now
third in Guilford history in three-pointers made (229) and
attempted (615). He's currently seventh in the ODAC in
scoring at 14.9 points per game. He leads the conference in
three-pointers made (54), is second in steals (36) and seventh in
free throw percentage (80.7).
