Murtha, a freshman from Dallas, Texas, helped the Generals to a
pair of ODAC wins to lock up the seventh seed in the upcoming ODAC
Tournament. Murtha averaged 27.5 points over the two games,
beginning with 24 points in a 72-64 in at Roanoke. He was
5-of-11 from the field and nailed all 14 of his foul shots.
He added six rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot. In
a 76-74 win at Randolph, Murtha led all players with 31 points,
tying a career-high. He was 9-of-16 from the field and
13-of-15 from the stripe, making him 27-of-29 from the free throw
line on the week. He added 12 rebounds for his third
double-double of the season. He also dished out two assists
and blocked a pair of shots. Murtha is currently second in
the ODAC in total points scored (429) and third in scoring average
(17.2 ppg). He leads the ODAC in free throws made
(157-of-202), is third in field goal shooting (53.8%; 136-of-253)
and ninth in foul shooting (77.7%).
