Carson Long, Guilford, So., Forward

Long, a sophomore from Pilot Mountain, N.C., led the Quakers to a pair of conference wins last week to help Guilford to a 5-1 start to the new season. Long opened his week with a career-high 32-point explosion in a 94-88 overtime win over Eastern Mennonite. Long was 15-of-20 from the floor including 2-of-5 from three-point territory on the way to his second 30-point game of the season. He pulled down seven rebounds with five coming via the offensive glass. He added three steals, an assist, and a blocked shot. Long stayed strong in a 69-53 win at Hampden-Sydney, the first victory for the Quakers in the Tigers' home arena since 2009. Long was 6-of-9 from the field including 3-of-6 from deep on the way to 17 points. He chipped in six rebounds an an assist. For the season, Long fourth in the ODAC in scoring (18.7 ppg) and third in total points (112), field goals made (44), and offensive rebounds (20). He has scored in double figures in five straight games.
