2013-14 ODAC Men's Basketball "Virtual" Media Guide

ODAC basketball continues to be one of the deepest sports the conference has to offer.  For the second time in the past four years, four squads earned a place in the NCAA Division III Tournament, bringing the ODAC's total represenation in that span to 12 national tournament bids.

The national pundits see continued success for the ODAC in 2013-14 with three teams ranked in the D3hoops.com Top-25.  That's despite just seven all-conference performers returning from the 18 that donned the awards list a season ago.  And as D3hoops.com implies, that certainly has not left the cupboard bare of talent.  Hampden-Sydney College opens as the highest ranked squad in that survey, sitting 14th.  Just two spots down is 2012-13 ODAC champ, Randolph-Macon College.  Virginia Wesleyan College rounds out the ODAC's contingent as the 25th-rated squad.  All three programs earned a spot in last year's NCAA Tournament, joined by national stage rookie Randolph College.

Five All-ODAC First Teamers will need to be replaced, including standout WildCat Colton Hunt, her earned the ODAC Player of the Year award and the Jostens Trophy among his many pieces of hardware.  H-SC Khobi Williamson and VWC's D.J. Woodmore return from the conference's top-honored squad, with both looking to duplicate their 2012-13 performances so they can welcome five newcomers to the first team.

ODAC Men's Basketball Media Day marks the official kick-off to the 2013-14 season.  Each of the league's 12 coaches meet with the media in Salem on Thursday, October 31 for the annual function hosted by the Salem Rotary Club.  Videos (posted to this site) will help you learn how each coach feels about his squad coming into the campaign, in addition to his take on the never-dull ODAC as teams prepare for a 16-game league schedule against some of the best competition NCAA Division III has to offer.
