2014-15 ODAC Men's Basketball "Virtual" Media Guide

ODAC basketball continues to be one of the deepest sports the conference has to offer.  The conference continues to have success at the national level as well, with at least two schools each year and 14 overall squads qualifying for the NCAA Division III Tournament since 2009-10.

The national pundits see continued success for the ODAC in 2014-15 with two teams ranked in the D3hoops.com Top-25.  That's despite just eight all-conference performers returning from the 18 that dotted the awards list a season ago.  And as D3hoops.com implies, that certainly has not left the cupboard bare of talent. Randolph-Macon College opens as the highest ranked squad in that survey, sitting 11th.  A few spots down in 19th position is 2013-14 ODAC champ, Virginia Wesleyan College.  Both programs have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for at least the past five years, with VWC qualifying each of the last 10 seasons and winning the national title in 2006.

Four All-ODAC First Teamers will need to be replaced, including VWC standout, D.J. Woodmore, who earned the ODAC/Kurt Axe Player of the Year award for a second time a season ago.  Eastern Mennonite University double-double machine David Falk and Roanoke College big man Daniel Eacho are the only two first team selections set to return, with both looking to duplicate their 2013-14 performances so they can welcome four newcomers to the first team.

ODAC Men's Basketball Media Day marks the official kick-off to the 2014-15 season.  Each of the league's 12 coaches meet with the media in Salem on Thursday, October 30 for the annual function hosted by the Salem Rotary Club.  Videos (posted to this site) will help you learn how each coach feels about his squad coming into the campaign, in addition to his take on the never-dull ODAC as teams prepare for a 16-game league schedule against some of the best competition NCAA Division III has to offer.
