FOREST, Va. --- Roanoke College midfielder
Marc Dinkel tops the ODAC's group of men's soccer award winners
from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as
he became the 11th overall Maroon and first since 2012 to earn
All-American laurels. Dinkel was selected to the second
team.
In addition to Dinkel's All-American nod, eight players picked up
All-South Atlantic Region distinction. Joining Dinkel on the
first team are fellow Maroon, goalkeeper Cole Sinclair, and
Lynchburg College centerback Josh Hinkle. Roanoke midfielder
Tyler Carbaugh and Washington and Lee University foward Zach Colby
were tabbed to the second team. RC defender Dio Beck, LC
forward Luke Moore, and Virginia Wesleyan College winger Isaac
Arrington earned third team honors.

Dinkel, a junior from Basel,
Switzerland, led the ODAC in points (37), goals scored (12) and
assists (13) as he proved to be the engine behind the ODAC's top
scoring offense (43 goals) thru the end of the conference
tournament. Four times he notched the game-winning goal for
RC, including a 1-0 victory over Randolph-Macon College and a 4-3
triumph at EMU. He started all 20 games for the Maroons,
registering at least one point on 14 occasions. His largest
output came in the ODAC semifinals against Washington and Lee
University in which he scored once and dished out three assists for
a five-point night. Thru two seasons in a RC uniform, Dinkel
has scored 17 goals and handed out 19 assists for 53 points.
