Richardson, a freshman from Hampton, Va., helped VWC to a crucial 2-0 week in ODAC play with goals in victories over Randolph College and Guilford College.  Both games were against foes battling VWC for third place in the conference standings. He scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Randolph, knocking the ball in in the 76th minute.  He also assisted on the Marlins’ first goal of the game.  At Guilford, Richardson came through again, adding VWC’s final goal in the 78th minute.  The goals were his first two of the season.

Men's Soccer Honor Roll

Bryan Wharton, Hampden-Sydney College, Junior, Forward
Wharton posted two goals and one assist for five points on the week for the Tigers. At Bridgewater on Wednesday he tallied one goal and one assist for three points. In a victory against E&H that secured the team’s spot into the ODAC Tournament, Wharton posted one penalty kick goal to tie the game heading into halftime. Wharton leads the ODAC in goals with 11, giving him his third straight 10+ goal season in as many years, leads the ODAC in points with 26, and is tied for seventh in assists with four.

Michael Releford, Lynchburg College, Freshman, Goalkeeper
Releford led LC to a 2-0 week, holding opponents scoreless for 135 minutes. He made seven saves and got credit for one shutout in a 4-0 win at Randolph-Macon College Saturday.

James Pymm, Washington and Lee University, Senior, Forward
Pymm recorded the game-winning goal for the Generals against Eastern Mennonite on Wednesday, and also found the net against Bridgewater on Saturday.
