Kemp, a sophomore from Frisco, Texas, picks up his second weekly award of the season after helping Virginia Wesleyan to a pair of ODAC wins over Lynchburg (1-0) and Roanoke (2-1). Kemp notched both goals in the rematch of last year's ODAC title game at Roanoke. He opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a rifle shot from 20-yards that went in off the underside of the crossbar. He notched his second tally with 47 seconds remaining in the second overtime period and his near post run met a cross by Isaac Arrington to secure the double-overtime win. Kemp has 15 points on six goals and three assists this season.
Men's Soccer Honor Roll
Ben Lewis, Bridgewater (So., Forward - Powhatan,
Va.)
Lewis scored both goals in the Eagles 2-0 win over
Shenandoah. He then tallied BC's score in a 2-1 overtime loss
against Hampden-Sydney.
Jovanni Catalan, Guilford (Sr., Defender - Pittsboro,
N.C.)
Catalan scored twice in the Quakers 5-1 road win at
Emory & Henry. The tallies were the first of his
career.
Cameron McFarlane, Hampden-Sydney (Fr., Goalkeeper -
Norwich, Conn.)
McFarlane made 14 saves and only allowed one goal in
two ODAC games last week. He stopped seven shots in a 0-0
draw against Randolph-Macon. He followed that with seven more
saves, including a stop of a penalty kick, in a 2-1 overtime win
agianst Bridgewater. He is second in the ODAC with an .878
save percentage.
Jonathan Sheffield, Lynchburg (Sr., Goalkeeper - Dale
City, Va.)
In a 1-1 week for the Hornets, Sheffield allowed just one goal in
185 minutes while making 14 saves. He made nine stops in a
1-0 loss to Virginia Wesleyan, and followed that with five saves in
a 2-0 triumph against Eastern Mennonite.
Corey Sindle, Randolph (Sr., Forward - Gloucester,
Va.)
Sindle notched four goals last week in a pair of wins for the
WildCats. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win against Emory
& Henry, and then had two more tallies in a 7-0 triumph at
Shenandoah. He leads the ODAC with 38 points and 16 goals
scored.
Cris Lowe, Randolph-Macon (Sr., Goalkeeper - Rome,
Ga.)
Lowe made six saves over two games last week. He stopped
three shots in a 0-0 draw with Hampden-Sydney. He followed
that with three more saves in a 2-0 loss to Washington and Lee.
Zach Colby, Washington and Lee (Jr., Forward - Prairie
Village, Kans.)
Colby notched both goals in the Generals' 2-0 win at
Randolph-Macon. He's second in the ODAC with 21 points and 10
goals scored.
