ATLANTA, Ga. --- The Washington and Lee men's tennis team saw its 2018 season come to an end with a 5-1 loss to second-ranked Emory University on Saturday morning in Atlanta.
The Generals claimed an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles, as the team of sophomore Harry Shepherd (Ridgewood, N.J. / St. George's School) and senior Michael Lukas (Manitowoc, Wis. / University School of Milwaukee) earned victory over Scott Rubenstein and James Spaulding, the fourth-ranked doubles tandem in the Atlantic South Region.
However, the Eagles claimed straight set wins at No. 2, 4 and 5 singles to walk away with the victory.
Washington and Lee ends its season at 13-7 overall, while Emory improved to 17-4 for the year.
