Ed Kahn, a well-known individual in the Hampton Roads tennis loop for nearly 30 years, has been named the Director of Tennis by VWC. Kahn was on staff last season as the assistant coach. He now takes over the Director's spot vacated by Frank Early.

Hampden-Sydney continues its strong postseason play as the Tigers defeated the Transylvania, 5-1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers came out strong in doubles play, winning two of the three matches.

A pair of ODAC schools prepare to enter the 2009 NCAA Division III Tennis Tournaments this week as the first three rounds of play begin this weekend. Washington and Lee University will play host to five womens squads on May 8-10 while Hampden-Sydney College travels to Emory University for its NCAA action.

Hampden-Sydneys William Moss joined a rare group in ODAC history this week as the leagues coaches determined the 2009 Mens Tennis All-ODAC Teams. Moss won his third straight ODAC Player of the Year award, giving him four major playing awards in three seasons . Moss was also named the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2009.

Hampden-Sydney College ended one of the longest championship streaks in ODAC history on Sunday afternoon as the Tigers defeated Washington and Lee University to claim their third ODAC men's tennis title in program history.
