CANTON, N.Y. --- The ODAC will be represented by a large contingent of student-athletes at the 2015 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence University at the Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex in Canton, N.Y. Fifteen standouts overall from conference schools head north, with competition slated to begin on Thursday, May 21.
Qualifiers, Heat Sheets, Meet Schedule and Results
Roanoke College sends the most athletes to the Empire State as the Maroons' 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay squads earned a place in the field. Alease Kinney will take part in both relays, while also competing individually in the 400-meter dash. Kinney is slotted 13th among the event's 22 participants at 0:56.03. RC's 4x100m relay team of Esther Prempeh, Melanie Meadows, Kinney and Alexis Janney sit 11th in a 16-team field at 0:47.51. Kinney, Erin McGovern, Jessica Mejia and Janney boast a time of 3:49.28 in the 4x400m relay, 12th in the discipline.
Three from Bridgewater College will also be in uniform. Eagles will be present in both the men's and women's 800-meter runs. Sam Gunther sits 19th in a 20-man field with a time of 1:51.67, while Elizabeth Stump is 20th of 22 competitors at 2:11.87 in the women's race. Katelyn Senger looks to spin her way to an All-American award in the discus. Her ODAC record throw of 43.81 meters is 20th out of 22 participants.
Eastern Mennonite University sends a pair donning Royals' blue. Hannah Chappell-Dick is seeded eighth in the 1,500-meter run with a season-best and ODAC-record time of 4:30.97. Kat Lehman is one of 22 women competing in the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 17:08.75 is slotted 17th.
Washington and Lee University will also be represented by a pair of female standouts. Two-time All-American Dana Lee looks to out-leap the field in the long jump. Her best mark of 5.71 meters is 13th of 22 competitors. Janey Fugate takes her ODAC-record time of 1:01.82 into the 400-meter hurdles competition. She's positioned ninth in a 22-woman field.
Hornets from two schools complete the ODAC's contingent. Shenandoah University's Jaclyn Mohlmann will again participate in the heptathlon at the national meet. Her season-best point total of 4,613 is 12th in a field of 22 multi-athletes. Lynchburg College's Evan Truman will eventually hit the sand in the long jump pit. His ODAC-record mark of 7.67 meters is ranked #1 in the competition.
The championships are slated to begin at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, and continue thru Saturday, May 23.
