Cason, a junior from Clemmons, N.C., set a new ODAC record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Duke Invitational over the weekend. Cason place sixth in the 29-man field with a time of 9:18.71, eclipsing the time of 9:19.21 set for Nathan Johnson from Washington and Lee in 2005. Cason’s time tops the ODAC seasonal ranks and is currently seventh in NCAA Division III.
Men's Outdoor Track & Field Honor Roll
Luke Sohl, Bridgewater College
- (Sophomore, Distance - Burke, Va)
At the Duke Invitational this past weekend, Sohl crossed the line
in 15th place with a time of 14:34.00 in the 5,000-meter run,
making him the top D-III finisher. Sohl crushed his own
current school record by a solid 25 seconds and now holds the sixth
fastest time in the country.
Rachad Davis, Lynchburg College -
(Junior, Sprints/Hurdles - Virginia Beach, VA)
Davis was the top D-III finisher in the both the 110-meter and
400-meter hurdles at the Liberty Collegiate Invitational on
Saturday. He placed fourth in the 110-hurdles in 15.28.
He went on to set a career-best in the 400-hurdles in 53.23.
That time is second-best in LC history and tops the ODAC this
season. It’s also the fifth-best time in the
country.
Kyle Chowhan, Virginia Wesleyan College
- (Sr, Vaulter - Flanders, N.J.)
Chowhan set the VWC pole vault record at 4.45 meters (14’
7.25”) while competing at the Duke University Invitational.
He broke his own former record of 14-feet 6-inches and placed
fourth overall in the field at Duke. His vault height is currently
No. 1 among ODAC athletes by nearly a foot. He is also currently
tied for 46th among the top D-III vaulters.
