Dash Dericks, Washington and Lee, Sr., Throws

Dericks, a senior from Waveland, Ind., continued his strong start to the outdoor season in the throws with two more impressive tosses at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational over the weekend. Dericks finished second in both the discus and javelin. He improved upon his already ODAC top mark in the discus with a heave of 46.54 meters (152-8.00), which ranks 10th in NCAA Division III. He added a throw of 48.53 meters (159-3.00) in the javelin, which is just off his previous season-high (51.15m; 167-10.00), which is second in the ODAC.

Davonta Womack, BC: finished second in the long jump at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational with a leap of 6.63m (21-9.00). That mark leads the ODAC this season.

Jamel Howard, EMU: tied for first in the high jump in his first meet of the season at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational. Eclipsed 1.83m (6-0.00), which is fourth in the ODAC.

Jeremiah Hedrick, GC: set the Guilford record in the triple jump at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational. Reached 13.56m (44-6.00) to finished third overall and rank third in the ODAC. Finished second in the long jump at 6.58m (21-7.25), which is second in the ODAC and seventh-longest in school history. Ran a leg of the 4x100m relay team that finished fifth (44.34).

Dalton Hoppe, LC: competed in three events at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational. Finished third in the hammer at 45.02m (147-8.00), eighth in the javelin at 45.68m (149-10.00), and ninth in the discus at 35.77m (117-4.00). His hammer toss is second-best in the ODAC.

Jason White, SU: won the triple jump at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational with a leap of 13.69m (44-11.00), which is just 0.01m off his ODAC leading jump last weekend. Placed 11th in the long jump at 6.20m (20-4.25).
