Kristina Karagiorgis, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Pitcher

Karagiorgis, a senior from Ashburn, Va., shutout Roanoke, 3-0, last week as she improved to 14-2 on the season with her 13th straight victory.  She retired the first eight batters she faces on the way to a complete-game effort.  She surrendered just two hits without a walk and fanned nine batters.  She entered the game with the nation's fourth-lowest earned run average, which went down to 0.52 following her win over the Maroons.  She leads the ODAC with 135 strikeouts in 94.0 innings of work.

Softball Pitcher Honor Roll

Maggie Shaffer, Guilford (Jr. - Horsham, Pa.)
Shaffer earned a 7-0 four-hit shutout of Bridgewater last week.  She walked three and struck out four on the way to her sixth win of the season.

Conner English, Lynchburg (Fr. - Altavista, Va.)
English went the distance to get a 5-1 win over Randolph-Macon last week.  She gave up one unearned run on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts.  The game marker her ninth win and sixth complete game of the season.

Nelda Bagley, Randolph-Macon (Fr. - Kenbridge, Va.)
Bagley went 2-1 last week, with her loss coming to Lynchburg in which she gave up six runs (five earned) on 11 hits with a walk and five strikeouts.  She shook that off to win both games of a doubleheader with non-conference Gettysburg.  She went seven innings in both games, givng up 14 hits and three runs with four walks and 14 strikeouts.  She has now won 14 games this season, tied for tops in the ODAC with VWC's Kristina Karagiorgis.

Kelly Higbie, Roanoke (Sr. - Midlothian, Va.)
Higbie became the Maroons all-time leader in strikeouts despite two losses to Virginia Wesleyan last week.  She has now fanned 367 career batters after striking out five in two games against the Marlins.  She worked 9.1 total innnings in those contests, giving up eight runs (five earned) on 11 hits.
