Hull, a sophomore from Chesterfield, Va., worked four times and picked up three victories against nationally ranked opponents at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Arizona. Hull went eight full frames in the nationally top-ranked Marlins 2-1 victory over #17 Moravian College. She gave up one run on five hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts. Her second win came with four strong innings in a 10-2 triumph over #13 East Texas Baptist. She surrendered two runs on two hits with two walks and five punchouts. Hull came out of the bullpen for two scoreless innings in an 18-3 drubbing over Birmingham Southern. She then capped her week with a two-hit shutout of ninth-ranked Texas Lutheran. She walked three batters and fanned nine. For the season, Hull is 8-0 with a 0.50 earned run average in 56.0 innings of work. She has struck out 96 batters and walked just 12. The opposition is hitting just .102 off the Marlins lefty.

Softball Pitcher of the Week Honor Roll

Cameron Derr, E&H: went 2-0 in 8.2 solid innings last week. Went the distance in a 7-6 win over Marietta, giving up six runs (four earned) on four hits with four walks and nine strikeouts. She then came out of the pen for 1.2 innings the second game against the Pioneers, walking two and fanning four without giving up a hit. She earned the victory, 8-5.

Candace Whittemore, R-MC: struck out a career-high 14 batters in a 6-0 shutout of Frostburg State. She gave up just two hits and walked two in seven full frames.
