Cortney Rawes, Lynchburg, Fy., Outfielder

Rawes, a first-year from Appomattox, Va., put together a strong first few games to start the 2020 season, including a walk-off effort to help the Hornets to a 3-1 beginning to the schedule. Rawes went 5-for-8 with a double, two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in three appearances. She doubled in her lone at bat in a 1-0 setback to William Peace. Rawes went 4-for-7 in a sweep of Methodist, beginning with a 2-for-3 showing with a stolen base and a run scored in a 4-0 win in game one. She went 2-for-4 in game two with the latter of her two hits a walk-off two-run single with one down in the seventh inning for a 3-2 victory over the Monarchs.
