Katrina Martin, Bridgewater, Jr., 1st Base

Martin, a junior from Bridgewater, Va., put together a strong week as she hit safely in all eight games Bridgewater played last week in Florida, helping the Eagles to a 7-1 showing. BC went 8-2 overall on the trip with two games played the previous Sunday. Martin rattled off 10 hits in 23 at bats with eight walks towards a .594 on-base percentage. She collected a pair of triples and a homer while driving in seven runs and scoring 10 times. She opened with two RBI in a 6-5 win over Adrian and scored twice with in a second 1-for-3 outing with two walks in a 10-5 win over Ohio Northern later that day. On day two, Martin went 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored in a 6-2 win over Bluffton and followed up with a two-run homer and a run scored in an 8-1 win over New England College. Martin went 2-for-4 in the Eagles lone loss, a 4-3 decision to John Carroll, but rebounded with a 4-0 victory over Alvernia in which Martin drove in two runs and scored once. On the final day, Martin went 2-for-3 with a triple, walk, RBI and two runs scored in an 8-4 victory over Mount Union, and then capped the week by going 1-for-2 with a triple, walk, and two runs scored in a 4-2 win over Illinois College. For the season, Martin is top-10 in the ODAC in slugging (2nd - .923), OBP (4th - .574) and batting average (6th - .462). She leads the ODAC with 12 walks, tied for first with three triples, is second in RBI (19) and total bases (36), and ranks fourth in runs (16), hits (18), and homeruns (3).
