CELEBRATING YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS -- 2019-20 W&L SWIMMING

Eight members of the Washington and Lee swimming teams saw their seasons end prematurely when the NCAA announced that it was canceling all winter and spring championships.  These seven women and one man had reached the pinnacle of their seasons and were set to accomplish historic feats. The women's swimming team was striving to break its program record for the highest NCAA Championship finish set four years ago. Patrick Sullivan had the potential to claim three additional All-America citations at the 2020 NCAA Championship

Records:
School record-holder in the 50 (23.71) and 100 free (51.38), the 100 fly (54.53) and with the 200 (1:43.36) and 400 medley (3:44.72) relays and the 200 (1:34.02) and 400 free (3:24.96) relays
2020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Individually, Emily qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 breaststroke and the 400 individual medley.  She also qualified as a member of the 400 medley relay and may have competed on additional relays at nationals.  She was seeded seventh in the 200 breast, 10th in the 100 breast and 14th in the 400 IM, while the 400 medley relay was seeded 17th overall. 2020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Individually, Ali qualified for the 2020 NCAA Division III Championship in the 100 butterfly, where she was seeded fourth overall.  She also qualified as a member of the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay, which were seeded 15th and 17th, respectively.  Additionally, she was slated to compete in the 50 free and the 100 free, and she would have likely competed on additional relays at the National Championship meet.

2020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Mattie was set to compete at NCAA Nationals for the first time in her W&L career.  She individually qualified in the 1650 freestyle and was seeded 17th overall.  She was also going to compete in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. 2020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Patrick qualified for NCAA Nationals in the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle, and he was also set to compete in the 50 freestyle.  He was seeded ninth in the 200 free and 13th in the 100 free.

22020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Caroline qualified for the NCAA Championship as a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that was seeded 15th, and she likely would have competed on other relays at Nationals.  Individually, she was slated to compete in the 200 individual medley. 2020 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFO: Claudia qualified for the NCAA Championship as a member of the 200 freestyle relay and the 400 medley relay teams, which were seeded 15th and 17th, respectively.  She likely would have competed in additional relay events as well.
