Hollins University announced Wednesday Mallary Meyer as the new Head Swimming Coach for HU.

Roanoke College Director of Athletics Scott Allison has announced that Brandon Ress will be the next head coach of the swim program. Ress will be the program's second head coach since it returned to the Salem campus five years ago.

Washington and Lee University concluded competition in the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday. Generals swimmers competed in three events on the final day.

One record increases and another begins as the ODAC Board of Directors handed out the league's highest individual honors in naming the winners of the Majorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Awards. Washington and Lee University swimmer Emily Hageboeck earned Berkley Award recognition, while University of Lynchburg runner Shawn Gmurek collected Jopson Award laurels. Hageboeck is the 11th winner of the Berkley Award from W&L, furthering the Generals conference record. Eastern Mennonite University student-athletes have won the second-most honors at six. For Gmurek, the list is brand new as he is the first Hornet from Lynchburg to claim the Jopson Award. He does continue an interesting trend as a cross country or track & field athlete has collected Berkley and/or Jopson distinction each of the past seven years dating back to 2014.

We chatted with Washington and Lee standout swimming student-athlete Emily Hageboeck, who won the ODAC's Marjorie Berkley Award as the top senior scholar-athlete in the conference. In addition to being a 14-time All-American and 17-time ODAC event-winner, Hageboeck was extremely active on campus and starred in the classroom.

Washington and Lee completed a banner regular season that included dual ODAC championships for the sixth straight season and culminated in eight stars qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships. However, they did not get a chance to compete before the NCAA postseason was canceled. This feature by Washington and Lee's athletic communications department celebrates the accomplishments of those athletes.

After a nationwide search, Hollins Director of Athletics Myra Sims is pleased to announce the hiring of Ned Skinner as Head Swim Coach and Director of the Northen Swim Center. Skinner takes over the program after the four-year tenure of Patrick Richardson and will begin the day-to-day operations of the program on August 1.

Washington and Lee junior Emily Hageboeck highlighted the final day of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships for ODAC swimmers as she broke her own ODAC and W&L records on the way to securing All-American honors in the 200-yard breaststroke. Four other Generals picked up All-American laurels as competition wrapped at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Washington and Lee junior Emily Hageboeck went record-hunting twice on Friday on the way to picking up All-America recognition on day three of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Hollins University senior and swimming standout Dani Raymond has been awarded the NCAA Women’s Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, which supports students enrolled in a sports-related program as a full-time graduate student.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Washington and Lee University's contingent of swimmers shined over the course of four days at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on March 21-24. The Generals took home 13 All-American or Honorable Mention All-America laurels out of 20 entries in the championships competed at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

There will be plenty of swimmers wearing blue and white trident caps in Indianapolis in three weeks as Washington and Lee University and the ODAC will be represented by 13 student-athletes at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Eight women and five men will take to the waters at the Indiana University Natatorium on March 21-24.

It was a historic weekend for the nine ODAC swimmers that traveled to Shenandoah, Texas, for the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, especially those wearing Washington and Lee apparel. Eight Generals combined to secure 21 All-American awards over four days of competition at the CISD Natatorium.

Nine swimmers from ODAC schools are just hours away from competing in the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe ISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. A total of 527 competitors (479 swimmers and 48 divers) will spend four days with action slated to begin the morning of Wednesday, March 15 and continuing thru Saturday, March 18.

Washington and Lee University completed its third straight sweep of the ODAC Swimming Championships on Sunday evening, capturing the men's and women's conference titles after three days of competition at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. The Generals racked up 1,042 points to win their 10th consecutive and 27th overall women's championship and collected 1,047 points on the way to wrapping a third title in third season for men's swimming as an official conference championship sport.

It was a banner year for ODAC men's and women's swimming, highlighted by national championship performances and an abundance of records broken and reset. To cap the 2015-16 season, the ODAC announces its annual All-ODAC Men's and Women's Swimming Teams, which feature 65 athletes from its swimming membership.

Bridgewater College has selected Laura Bartley as its new head swimming coach. Bartley, currently the program's assistant coach, will begin her leadership of the program in the 2016-2017 season, following the retirement of head coach Fran Smith.

Washington and Lee University swimmers Tommy Thetford and Emily Rollo highlighted a very productive weekend for ODAC competitors at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, as the Generals' duo collected a trio of All-American honors apiece. Thetford added to his bounty with a pair of national titles, winning crowns in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

Hollins University Acting Director of Athletics Bill Mannino is pleased to announce the hiring of Patrick Richardson to the position of head swim coach and instructor of physical education. After a search that began soon after the end of the season, Richardson comes to Hollins after a stint as an assistant with the William Jewell swim program.

Washington and Lee swimmers Tommy Thetford and Emily Rollo represented their school and the ODAC well at the NCAA Division III Swimming Championships, hosted by the SCAC at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. Thetford twice placed inside the top-five, earning a pair of All-American honors. Rollo set a new W&L record during her three swims.

Former Sweet Briar College record-breaking swimming and head coach at the former Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Donna Hodgert, is making her return to the ODAC as she was tabbed to lead the Vixens' swimming program. Hodgert takes over the program from Jason Gallaher, who stepped down following the ODAC Championships in February.

Emory & Henry College took home two major awards as part of the 2014 All-ODAC Swimming awards. The Wasps' Allison Fowler and Michaela Nolte were tabbed the ODAC Swimmer of the Year and ODAC Rookie of the Year, respectively. Sweet Briar College head coach Jason Gallaher was named the ODAC Coach of the Year. Washington and Lee University's Stephanie Foster garnered ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete accolades from the league's sports information directors, and Guilford College's Morgan McKinnon received the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award.

Washington and Lee University captured its 24th overall and seventh straight ODAC swimming title after racking up 953 points over three days of competition in the 2014 ODAC Swimming Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C. The Generals won 10 events over the weekend, including two on Sunday during the meet’s final six races.

Washington and Lee University won its sixth straight and 23rd overall ODAC swimming title on Sunday, powered by 18 athletes that earned all-conference recognition, 11 on the All-ODAC First Team. Emory & Henry College placed four Wasps on the first team, while Randolph-Macon College rounded out the 17-swimmer squad with two first team honorees.

Washington and Lee University senior swimmer Delaney Rolfe is a champion in and out of the pool. She is a three-time winner of the ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, an honor selected by the league's sports information directors. She is also a two-time winner of the 500-yard freestyle at the ODAC Swimming Championships. She's won the event each of the past two years.

Washington and Lee University won four events during Sunday's final day of competition to increase its point total to 1,000 and win the 2013 ODAC Swimming Championships, the program's 23rd overall and sixth straight league title. Randolph-Macon College finished second with 515 points, while Bridgewater College’s second place finish in the meet’s final event secured third place by four points (412-to-408) over Emory & Henry College.

Following its 22nd ODAC title last month in Greensboro, Washington and Lee saw 10 Generals earn recognition on the All-ODAC First Team in an announcement of the full All-ODAC Swimming Teams. Randolph-Macon earned four honors, while Hollins and ODAC newcomer Greensboro College rounded out the 16-woman first team with one honor each.

Washington and Lee won four more events on Sunday evening to help itself towards 992 total points and its fifth straight ODAC swimming crown. Randolph-Macon finished second with 740 points, and Sweet Briar rounded out the top three with 373 points over the three day affair at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

The Generals secured 17 honors in total between the first and second teams, and picked up a pair of individual honors. Randolph-Macon won three major awards, also claiming 10 spots on the All-ODAC teams.

Washington and Lee University won three more events on Sunday evening, powering the Generals to their fourth straight ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championship title. It also marked their 21st overall ODAC crown. Randolph-Macon College finished second followed by Sweet Briar College in third and Bridgewater College in fourth.

Washington and Lee extended its lead to 156 points over Randolph-Macon following the second day of competition at the ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championships. Both the Generals and Yellow Jackets won three events on the day. R-MC's Tracilyn Babington (pictured) eclipsed the NCAA B-cut qualifying time in the 100-yard breaststroke, setting an ODAC record.

Washington and Lee University placed 13 student-athletes on the 16-woman All-ODAC Swimming First Team following its record 20th ODAC title last month at Radford University. The Generals secured 17 honors in total between the first and second teams, as well as garnering all but one of the major individual awards.

Washington and Lee University captured its second straight and 20th overall ODAC Swimming Championship on Sunday afternoon, also winning the full ODAC/Atlantic States team championship. Randolph-Macon finished second with Sweet Briar placing third in the three-day event.

Washington and Lee continued its dominance from the first day of action as the Generals took first place in each event, including a pair of relays. Sweet Briar continued its strong showing, having the second-best day among the competing teams. Randolph-Macon was third on Saturday, but maintained its overall second placing for the meet.

Washington and Lee placed 10 swimmers on the 2009 All-ODAC First Team and took home three major awards stemming from the 2009 ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championships at Radford last month. Swimmers from R-MC and SBC rounded out the teams.

Washington and Lee swimming competed at the 2009 NCAA Division III National Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota, over the past few days. Lindsay Strachan earned Honorable All-America honors in the 200-yard backstroke.

Washington and Lee won 14 of 18 events on its way to winning its 19th ODAC swimming title and the 2009 ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championship Crown. In full competition, the Generals registered 951 points and 1,010 points when separating the results on an ODAC-only basis.

It should be another exciting weekend of competition at Radford University’s Dedmon Center as 11 teams take to the water in the 2007 ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming championships. While the competition includes several teams outside the ODAC membership, the fight for the conference crown should be competitive in the pool’s fast waters.

Washington and Lee University continued its swimming success after winning the ODAC/Atlantic States Swimming Championships in February by earning nine spots on the All-ODAC award lists. Four Generals received major honors including junior Lindsey Strachan as the 2008 ODAC Swimmer of the Year. Tess Hayden was named the Rookie of the Year, and senior Amy Roberson took home her second straight ODAC/Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor. Julianne Miata earned the Bonnie Kestner Sportsmanship Award.

Washington & Lee received six first place nods and 62 votes to narrowly edge out Randolph-Macon in the 2007 ODAC Swimming Preseason Poll. The Yellow Jackets picked up the two remaining first place tallies and 58 overall votes in the annual coaches survey. Randolph College collected 43 votes to round out the top three preseason seeds.

Bridgewater College announced that Fran C. Smith has been hired as the first head coach of the women’s swim team at the college.

Washington and Lee Interim Athletic Director Chuck O'Connell has announced the appointment of Kami Gardner as head women's swimming coach and assistant professor of physical education. Gardner will begin her duties effective July 1.

After six years at the helm of the Randolph-Macon College swimming program, Dave Holland announced he will be stepping down as head coach of the Yellow Jackets, effective Friday, June 1.
