ODAC Swimmers of the Week Archive

Jobe, a first-year from Henrico, Va., picks up his fifth ODAC weekly award of the season after helping Washington and Lee to a 177-85 triumph over VMI in the Generals final tune-up before the ODAC Championships. Jobe won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:42.80, second-best in the ODAC to his own league-fastest mark of 1:41.47. He also won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:55.82, which would also be a top-four mark in the conference. He is currently second in the 200-IM at 1:54.37. Jobe then joined teammates Charles Byars, Harrison Cerone, and Matt Fritz in winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:34.44. Jobe posted a 50-free split of 0:21.57.

Borroughs, a sophomore from Stoughton, Wis., was quick in the water in helping Lynchburg close its regular season meet schedule with a 179-78 victory over Southern Virginia. Borroughs posted three of the fastest 50-yard freestyle splits of the season, including a 0:24.21 to win the event. That time ranks third in the ODAC this year. She also posted 50-yard splits of 0:24.11 and 0:24.37 in two relay wins for the Hornets. She joined teammates Lindsey Hair, Delaney Kennedy, and Emma Russell in winning the 200-yard medley relay in 1:53.25. She swam third with teammates Corrin Ford, Claire Galloway, and Sophia Schorr in winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:40.82. Borroughs won a second individual event, stopping the watches first in the 100-yard freestyle in 0:54.79. She already ranks third in the conference in that event at 0:53.56.

Fritz, a sophomore from Reston, Va., earns his first ODAC weekly award of the season after winning a pair of individual events and joining one victorious relay in Washington and Lee's 197-64 team triumph at Randolph-Macon. Fritz won the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal season-best time of 1:00.41, which slots seventh in the ODAC table. He also claimed gold in the 100-yard butterfly in 0:51.94, which was just 0.21 seconds off his best time this year, which currently ranks second in the league standings. Fritz swam third on the Generals "A" 200-yard medley relay squad. He joined teammates Charles Byars, Todd Echols, and Baxter Smelzer in posting a winning time of 1:35.17, less than a second off their ODAC season-best time. Fritz's sister, Emily, is a senior on the Randolph-Macon women's swimming team and is this week's ODAC Women's Swimmer of the Week.

Fritz, a senior from Reston, Va., swam four times in the Yellow Jackets showdown with Washington and Lee (L, 160-101) and claimed two individual event victories along with a fourth-place showing in a third indy event and a third place finish in a relay. Fritz won the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events with times of 1:10.55 and 2:30.96. She is already #1 in the ODAC in the shorter distance (1:05.87) and fourth (2:25.17) in the longer discipline. Her time in the 200-breaststroke against W&L would still appear inside the conference's top-10. Fritz added a fourth place finish in the 200-yard individual medley at 2:21.68. She also took part in one relay, joining teammates Kelsey James, Melina Christou, and Katelyn Vieni on a time of 1:53.90. Fritz's brother, Matt, is a sophomore on the Washington and Lee men's swimming team and is this week's ODAC Men's Swimmer of the Week.

Jennings, a senior from Tampa, Fla., picks up his first weekly award of the season after helping Lynchburg defeat Southern Virginia University, 145-116, on Senior Day. Jennings won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 0:58.77, which is third-fastest in the ODAC this season. He also captured the 100-yard freestyle gold medal with a time of 0:48.16. That slots 10th in the conference. Jennings joined his teammates in a pair of relays. He and Kevin Bennett, Parker Hayungs, and Will Kasemeyer won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:37.56. Jennings, Kasemeyer, Miles Fitzgerald, and Ryan Legge finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:29.01.

Borroughs, a first-year from Stoughton, Wis., stood atop the podium four times in helping Lynchburg to a 210-51 victory over Southern Virginia University on Senior Day. Borroughs won the 50-yard freestyle in 0:24.77 and captured the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.07. Her 50-free time is seventh-fastest in the ODAC, while her 200-free time would rank inside of the top-20 as it sits short of a second behind her personal season-best time of 2:02.36, which is 15th in the league. Borroughs swam on a pair of winning relay teams. She hit the water third in a rotation with teammates with Erin Wojtkowski, Claire Galloway, and Corrinn Ford in winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:43.19. Borroughs swam the anchor leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay team, joining Lindsey Hair, Galloway, and Delaney Kennedy for a time of 1:53.83.

Ewing, a first-year from Las Cruces, N.M., earns his first collegiate weekly award after helping Washington and Lee to a 174-87 win over VMI last week. Ewing won a pair of individual events with a pair of ODAC well-place times. That includes a victory in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:10.13, which is the second fastest time in the conference this season. He also won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:55.46, which would rank inside the ODAC's top-10. His previous season-best time of 4:49.11 is ranked second in the league.

Fritz, a junior from Reston, Va., competed often and well in picking up her first weekly award of the season after leading Randolph-Macon to a pair of dual meet victories last week. In a 112-93 win over Lynchburg, Fritz won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.36. That time would be roughly fourth in the league and behind her ODAC second-best previous mark of 2:24.23. She added a fourth place showing in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:18.80. Fritz swam second on the Yellow Jackets winning 200-yard medley relay team, joining Maggie Cooke, Emma Russell, and Brooke Walthall on a time of 1:52.26. Fritz won three times in Randolph-Macon's 138-123 victory at Catholic. She against claimed the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:29.71, and added a first place showing in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.46. That time would be an ODAC top-10 time. She currently leads the league with a 1:06.31 mark set earlier this season. Fritz again swam second on a Yellow Jackets' winning relay, this time the 400-yard medley. She joined Elizabeth Kramer, Russell, and Walthall with a time of 4:10.52.

Galloway, a sophomore from Holly Springs, N.C., put together a strong outing in the Hornets regular-season ending action at the Liberty Last Chance meet hosted by Liberty University at the Liberty Natatorium. Galloway set a Lynchburg program-record in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.52-seconds to place fourth in the event. That time ranks #1 in the ODAC this season entering ODAC championship week.

O'Neill, a first-year from Raleigh, N.C., finished the regular season with a strong swim at the Liberty Last Chance meet hosted by Liberty University at the Liberty Natatorium. O'Neill posted a time of 53.62-seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, which ranks third all-time in Hornets history. That time would also ranked #1 in the ODAC this season, but since Lynchburg competed unopposed in the meet, all times (designated as time trials) are only officially eligible for program records and not conference or national rankings.

Dewberry, a sophomore from Chesapeake, Va., had a big day in helping Virginia Wesleyan defeat Sweet Briar, 117-108. Dewberry won a pair of individual events and helped the Marlins to a first and second place finish in two relays. She the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.53, which ranks as the 11th fastest time in the ODAC in the event. She improved upon her ODAC ranking in the 200-yard backstroke, winning that discipline in 2:27.39 to slot eighth in the league. Dewberry and her teammates won the 400-yard medley relay in 4:50.02 and finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:19.24.

Beach, a first-year from Chesterfield, Va., put together a record-setting day in helping Bridgewater to a 118-110 victory over William Peace last week. Beach set school records in the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke events as we as the 200-meter medley relay. He and his teammates were victorious in each event, as they were in the 200-meter freestyle relay to clinch the team win. They swam 1:44.17 in the that relay as well as a school-record 1:55.78 in the 200-medley. Beach won and set a BC standard in the 100-meter back in 1:03.02, which when converted to short-course yards for ODAC and NCAA rankings, places him seventh in the ODAC at 57.10-seconds. He again stopped the watches first and set a school mark in the 200-meter back in 2:20.33. His converted time of 2:07.14 ranks sixth in the league.

Anson, a senior from Apex, N.C., closes out her final regular season in Emory with her first ODAC weekly award of the season after helping the Wasps to a 124-51 victory over Sweet Briar. Anson posted a pair of ODAC top-20 times in winning two individual events and also aid her teammates in a relay victory. She won the 200-meter individual medley by 25-seconds in 2:38.00. That time converts to 2:22.34 for ODAC rankings purposes and would sit 18th on the league chart. She also claimed the 100-meter butterfly event by more than 10-seconds in 1:09.50, which converts to 1:02.61 and ranks 17th in the conference. Anson and her teammates won the 400-meter freestyle relay in 4:42.37 (conversion unavailable).

Bennett, a first-year from Fredericksburg, Va., picks up his second weekly award of the season as he helped Lynchburg close its inaugural regular season with a tri-meet victory over Ferrum and Southern Virginia. Bennett set new program records in the 1,000-yard freestyle and as a member of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay. He crossed the line in 10:54.04 in the 1000-free, a mark which sits 12th in the ODAC. He also won the 100-yard backstroke in 0:56.96 and placed second in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:05.34. Bennett's split of 0:52.17 helped the Hornets to a time of 3:23.07 in the 400-free relay, which sits fourth in the conference.

Kontopanos, a junior from North Chesterfield, Va., put together a strong week in Randolph-Macon's back-to-back-to-back dual meet week. Kontopanos won six total individual events, added a win in a relay, and helped his Yellow Jackets teammates to second in two more relays as R-MC posted wins over Lynchburg (106-90) and Randolph (97-51) and fell to Catholic (176-86). Against Lynchburg, Kontopanos won the 200-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly events in 1:47.15 and 1:58.19, respectively. Both of those times would slot inside the ODAC's top-10. Kontopanos owns previous best times of third and first in those two events. He helped his teammates to second in the 400-yard medley relay in 3:46.53. Against Randolph, Kontopanos won the 100-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle disciplines in 0:52.96 and 4:55.30. His 100-fly time is just off his previous ODAC third-best mark, while his 500-free time is seventh in the league. He added one more win in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:33.62. Against Catholic, Kontopanos again stopped the watches first in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events, posting times of 0:53.06 and 1:58.21. Those both would be ODAC top-five marks. He and his teammates placed second in the 200-medley relay in 1:42.27.

Cooke, a sophomore from Newport News, Va., competed in 10 events over three dual meets competed over three straight days and claimed nine total first place finishes in the Yellow Jackets 3-0 week. She won five individual events and added four victories and one second place showing as Randolph-Macon posted team triumphs of 111-85 over Lynchburg, 134-127 over Catholic, and 94-32 over Randolph. Against the Hornets, Cooke won the 50-yard freestyle in 0:25.52 and then helped her teammates win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:45.34 and place second in the 400-yard medley relay in 4:12.64. Versus Catholic, Cooke against won the 50-free and added a triumph in the 100-yard freestyle in 0:25.66 and 0:56.97, respectively. She and her teammates on the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays in 1:52.36 and 3:50.50. Against Randolph, Cooke claimed her third 50-free win of the week in 0:25.86 and added a 100-yard backstroke victory in 1:03.64. She tacked on one more W with a time of 1:54.97 in the 200-medley relay.

Lynch, a sophomore from Richmond, Va., helped the Generals close out the regular season with a 159-75 victory over St. Mary's (Md.) to finish 8-1 in dual meet action. Lynch swam the opening leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay team, joining Steven Warren, Jared Nickodem, and Patrick Sullivan in posting a time of 1:36.04. He then went on to win both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events. He posted a time of 0:52.17 in the 100-fly, just 0.37-seconds of his ODAC top mark (0:51.80), and 1:57.86 in the 200-fly, which slots in the ODAC top-five on a list led by his previous conference fastest swim (1:53.24).

Baber, a first year from Richmond, Va., helped the Generals cap off a 9-0 record in regular season dual matches with a 165-81 victory over St. Mary's (Md.). Babe won twice individually and added a third win via relay. She swam the lead leg on the winning 200-yard medley relay team, joining Elle Chancey, Laura Bruce, and Claudia Barnett on a time of 1:39.39. Individually, Baber won the 50-yard freestyle in 0:24.73, which is just behind her previous season-best time of 0:24.44, which is third in the ODAC. She added a win in the 100-yard butterfly in 0:59.34, which would be another top-five ODAC swim if not for her conference fourth-best mark of 0:58.94.

Bird, a sophomore from Port Hope, Ontario, helped Roanoke cruise to a 168-20 dual meet victory over Ferrum in an event competed with the men's program at Hampden-Sydney College. Bird won a pair of individual events and was part of a second place relay squad. She won the 50-meter freestyle in 0:28.14. When converted to yards for ODAC rankings, her time of 0:25.49 shows 15th on the 50-yard free chart. Bird also won the 100-meter backstroke in 1:07.58. That time converts to 1:01.23 for ranking in the 100-yard backstroke entries, which falls just short of her season-best mark (1:01.20) in eighth position. Bird joined Caylyn McNaul, Hannah Petty, and Sydney Sellars in finishing second in the 200-meter medley relay in 2:11.10.

Tate, a freshman from Boones Mill, Va., helped Roanoke to a tri-meet victory over host Hampden-Sydney (140-64) and Ferrum (168-20) last week. Tate won both events in which he competed, registering a pair of ODAC top-11 showings. He won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:01.93. When converted to yards for ODAC rankings in the 200-yard freestyle, Tate's time of 1:50.47 would sit 11th in the league. In the 400-meter freestyle, he posted a winning time of 4:19.54. That mark converts to 4:59.25 in the 500-yard freestyle field, which ranks 11th on the posted chart.

Sullivan, a freshman from Pawleys Island, S.C., blistered in a pair of individual events and one relay as Washington and Lee defeated St. Mary's (Md.), 184-69, in a dual meet. Sullivan set a new pool record and took over first place on the ODAC's top-times list in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:42.28. He also won the 100-yard freestyle in 48.87. Sullivan then swam a leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay, which posted a time of 1:26.12.

Hageboeck, a sophomore from Charleston, W.Va., continues to excel in the breaststroke events as she helped lead Washington and Lee to a 174-73 dual meet victory over St. Mary's (Md.). Hageboeck eclipsed the NCAA "B" cut time (2:22.73) in the 200-yard breaststroke for the third time this season, winning the event in 2:20.61. That mark is second only to her previous season-best time (2:18.21). She was nearly as impressive in the 100-yard breaststroke as she narrowly missed the NCAA "B" cut time (1:04.95) in winning the event in 1:05.90. That mark is also just below her previous season-best time (1:05.12). Hageboeck also W&L win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:50.52.

Brown, a sophomore from Baldwin, Md., posted a pair of ODAC top-10 times in winning two individual events and helping the Generals to one relay victory in a 147-43 dual meet triumph over Randolph. Brown won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.23 seconds and picked up a 100-yard butterfly victory in 53.31 seconds. The latter time is just off the ODAC's top-five. Brown helped W&L post a time of 1:37.37 in the 200-yard medley relay, which is second only to the Generals' previous season-best mark.

Chancey, a junior from Tampa, Fla., posted a pair of ODAC top-four individual times and helped the Generals win one relay in a 154-39 dual meet victory over Randolph. Chancey won the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles in 53.43 seconds and 1:56.68, respectively. She previously set the ODAC's best marks in both events -- 52.37 in the 100-free and 1:55.42 in the 200-free. Chancey helped the W&L win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:40.26, which is second only to the Generals' previous season-best mark (1:37.19).

Redenz, a senior from Moseley, Va., put together three winning swims to help Randolph-Macon defeat Greensboro and Ferrum in a tri-meet. Redenz posted the Yellow Jackets fastest 1000-yard freestyle time of the season in winning the event in 10:15.73. It also ranks fifth in the ODAC this season. Redenz added victories in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:01.31 and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:02.93. He established the league's best times in both events earlier this season.

Richardson, a senior from Vero Beach, Fla., put herself in the Emory & Henry record books for the second time in as many weeks in helping the Wasps defeat a pair of scholarship-granting programs in King College (115-74) and Milligan College (135-29). Richardson won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:17.85, which converts to 2:04.18 for the NCAA standard of short-course yards. In the 100-meter backstroke, she etched her name in the E&H record books for the second time in 13 days in winning the event in 1:08.22. That translates to 1:01.45, which ranks inside the ODAC's top-seven. Richardson also helped E&H win the 200-meter medley relay in 2:13.46. Her backstroke 50-meter split of 0:31.53 converts to 0:28.40.

Schammel, a junior from Greenville, S.C., helped the Generals top both host York College (Pa.) and Marymount University (Va.) this weekend with scores of 174.5-85.5 and 201-46, respectively. Schammel set new pool records in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events, winning each with times of 0:51.76 and 1:57.29. He owns the top time in both events (0:50.69 and 1:55.19), with this weekend's marks ranking second and third to his own previous swims, respectively. Schammel also helped W&L win the 200-yard medley relay against Marymount with a time of 1:36.42, which is now the fastest in the ODAC this season.

MacQueen, a freshman from Memphis, Tenn., helped Washington and Lee claim a tri-meet win at York College (Pa.) by defeating the hosts, 187-71, and Marymount University (Va.), 200-46. MacQueen set one individual pool record and helped the Generals duplicate that feat in a relay amongst her three swims. She won the 100-yard butterfly with a pool-record time of 0:57.40. That time is second only to her ODAC season-best showing of 0:55.75 earlier this season. MacQueen and her teammates set a pool-record in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:38.13, less than a second short of the previous season-best time (1:37.27) established earlier in the year. She and her teammates also won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:49.05, which again would rank second in the ODAC this season.

Thetford, a sophomore from Birmingham, Ala., led the Generals to a dual meet win over Virginia Military Academy last week, setting a pair of NCAA B-cut qualification times in the process. Thetford improved upon his already ODAC best times in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, winning both along the way. In the 100-free, he stopped the watches in 0:45.49. He posted a time of 0:20.10 in the 50-free, which also ties his own ODAC record set during participation at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships. Thetford helped Washington and Lee to wins in the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, posting times of 1:35.34 and 1:26.23, respectively.

Lingle, a sophomore from Roanoke, Va., won three times individually in Emory & Henry's quad-meet victories over Greensboro (217-32), Ferrum (222-28) and Randolph-Macon (186-76). Lingle stopped the watches first in the 100-yard freestyle in 0:54.84 and the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.75, with both times ranking inside of the ODAC's top five marks. She also won the 200-yard individual medley by 6.72-seconds in 2:18.62, her best time in the event of the season. Lingle helped her teammates win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:54.22.

Saleh, a junior from Cairo, Egypt, picks up his second weekly honor after winning two individual events and helping the Yellow Jackets to a relay triumph in a 107-98 win at York (Pa.). Saleh won the 100-yard backstroke in a time 0:53.07, which would go down as the second-fastest time in the ODAC this season aside from his own previous top mark (0:52.16). He also won the 50-yard freestyle in 0:21.90. Saleh swam a leg of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team, which stopped the watches in 1:29.62.

Leigh, a senior from Richmond, Va., won twice individually and posted the winning swim in the final leg of the 200-meter freestyle relay to help the Yellow Jackets defeat York (Pa.), 111-94. R-MC's 200-free relay team finished with a time of 1:45.61. Individually, Leigh stopped the watches first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.76. She also claimed top prize in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:23.91.

Brajdic, a senior from Roanoke, Va., earns his fourth weekly award of the season after leading R-MC to wins in a dual meet against Greensboro and a tri-meet with Hampden-Sydney and Ferrum. He won all five individual events in which he competed, adding a first and second place showing in two relays. Against Greensboro, Brajdic won the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke events in 0:53.82 and 1:58.52, respectively. He also won the 200-yard individual medley in 1:58.54. He and his teammates won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:41.01. In the tri-meet, Brajdic won the 200-meter butterfly in 2:13.80, and followed suit in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:15.17. The Yellow Jackets finished second in the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:43.57.

Fowler, a sophomore from Morristown, Tenn., earns her second weekly award of the season after helping the Wasps to resounding wins over King College and Mars Hill College -- both NCAA Division II -- in a tri-meet last week. Fowler won three individual events and aided the Wasps in a relay victory. All three of Fowler's individual times would rank inside the ODAC's top-10. She won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.26. She also stopped the watches first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:15.94) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.89). She posted a butterfly leg of 0:27.41 to help E&H win the 200-yard medley relay in 1:53.84.

Saleh, a sophomore from Cairo, Egypt, helped the Yellow Jackets to a dual meet victory over Catholic University. He swam in four events for Randolph-Macon, winning each discipline. He posted a time of 0:54.39 to touch the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke. He duplicated the effort in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 0:49.40. Saleh already owned the second-best time in the ODAC in both events this season. Saleh then took to the relays, helping his teammates finish first in the 200-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle relays in times of 1:39.63 and 3:18.86, respectively.

Monahan, a sophomore from Cincinnati, Ohio, helped the Vixens to a pair of dual meet wins against ODAC competition. She competed in seven total events, winning four times individually and three times in relays. Each of her individual times rank inside the ODAC's top-15 in each respective event. In a 166-36 win over Hollins, Monahan touched first in the 800-meter freestyle in 10:22.00. She went on to help her teammates to first place showings in the 400-meter medley (5:14.31) and 800-meter freestyle (10:02.00) relays. Monahan helped supply the winning points in a 142-120 win over Bridgewater. After winning both the 100-meter (1:11.94) and 200-meter (2:38.15) backstroke events, she added the 400-meter freestyle to her performance, winning the discipline in 4:55.82. She also helped the Vixens to top prize in the 400-meter medley relay (4:59.91).

Hardy, a senior from Cary, N.C., helped the Generals to a sweep of VMI and Ferrum over the weekend, with W&L posting winning scores of 133-64 and 134-62, respectively. Hardy won a pair of individual events and aided her teammates in a relay win. She stopped the watches first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.55. She followed that with a 55.29 showing in the 100-yard freestyle. Hardy went on to swim the anchor leg of the 200-yard medley relay, which touched the wall at 1:52.13.

Hamp, a senior from Avon Lake, Ohio, led the Generals to a tri-meet victory over Catholic University and Marymount University over the weekend, winning a pair of individual events and helping the Generals to a relay win. Hamp's day started with a strong third leg in the 200-yard medley relay, aiding W&L to a winning time of 1:53.52. She followed that with a victory in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.32. She capped her outing with a 1:01.02 triumph in the 100-yard butterfly.

Crowther, a senior from Burgess, Va., helped the Eagles to 1-1 showing in their first two meets of the new year. She won four individual events and participated in a winning relay in BC's win over Hollins (130-51) and setback to Washington and Lee (122-78). Against Hollins, Crowther won the 50-meter freestyle in 28.13 seconds (converted to 25.48 for yards), and followed that with a winning time of 1:02.94 (converted to 56.39) in the 100-meter freestyle. She and her teammates won the 400-meter medley relay in 5:08.03 (converted to 4:39.07). Against W&L, Crowther set a pair of BC records (meters only) as part of two individual wins. Her first record came in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:12.82 (converted to 2:00.33). She then captured the 100-meter freestyle record in 1:01.60 (converted to 55.19). Crowther also competed in the third-place 200-meter freestyle relay team, which clocked a time of 2:02.66 (converted to 1:51.12).

Fowler, a freshman from Morristown, Tenn., put together a strong day in leading the Wasps to a first place finish at the Union College Winter Invitational. Fowler competed in seven different events, including three individually in which she claimed first place each time. She set or helped set several schools records and one new ODAC standard. She and her teammates tapped out in 1:36.96 in the 200-yard free relay, eclipsing the ODAC mark of 1:37.15 set by Washington and Lee last February at the ODAC Championships. Fowler posted individual wins in the 200-yard (2:11.69) and 400-yard (4:38.27) individual medleys in addition to claiming the win in the 200-yard butterfly (2:13.09). Her times in both IM's are tops in the ODAC this season. Fowler and her teammates also won the 400-yard (3:34.01) and 800-yard (7:55.82) free relays, as well as the 400-yard medley relay (4:00.85). E&H, as the only non-scholarship team at the meet, won 13-of-18 events and all five relays on the way to setting 18 school records.

Shirey, a freshman from Seaford, Del., picks up her second weekly award of the season as she rattled off three individual event victories and helped the Wasps to a relay win as Emory & Henry won a quad meet against Warren Wilson, Lagrange and Greensboro. Shirey claimed top prize in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.00, and followed that with a 56.74 time to win the 100-yard freestyle. Her third win came in the 50-yard butterfly via a time of 27.84. Shirey swam the lead leg of the E&H's 200-yard freestyle relay team that chimed in at 1:47.02. The Wasps finish the regular season with a 9-1 overall dual meet record and a 5-1 mark against ODAC teams.

Rolfe, a senior from Dallas, Texas, led the Generals to a pair of victories in a double-duel with Catholic and Marymount. W&L topped CUA, 154-101, and Marymount, 156-101. Rolfe claimed a pair of first place finishes, including a win the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.78. She tacked on a victory in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:25.37. Rolfe also swam the third leg of W&L's 400-yard freestyle relay team, which swam the event as an exhibition. The group posted a time of 3:49.37, which would have topped Catholic in the official standings.

Crowther, a junior from Burgess, Va., helped guide the Eagles to a 1-1 showing in their first meets of 2013. On Friday evening, Crowther won two individual events and swam the anchor leg of Bridgewater's victorious 200-yard medley relay squad in a 166-36 dual-meet win over Hollins. She topped the field in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.36 and corralled the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.65 seconds. On Saturday at Washington and Lee, Crowther started the day with a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.88 seconds. She followed up with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.98 seconds to post just the second individual event victory ever for Bridgewater against the Generals. Finally, Crowther swam the third leg on Bridgewater's runner-up 400-yard freestyle relay, which posted a time of 3:51.82.

Horne, a senior from Alexandria, Va., put together a pair of strong performances over the two weeks including five individual event victories and one more in a relay win. In a 130-49 duel meet win over Guilford, Horne won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:06.58, and added the first place showing in the 1000-yard freestyle in 13:00.06. She and her Pride teammates claimed the top spot in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:56.28. At LaGrange, Horne won the 50-yard freestyle, the 100-yard breaststroke, and the 200-yard backstroke.

Buckley, a senior from Springfield, Va., led the Yellow Jackets to a 157-103 victory over Catholic on senior day in Ashland. She picked up three wins on the afternoon to lead her team in her final home meet. She finished ahead of the pack in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.67), the 200-yard butterfly (2:21.81) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.63). Buckley's time in the 200-yard free is the third-best in the ODAC this season, while her showing in the 100-yard fly is fourth amongst league competition.

Almond, a senior from Estes Park, Colo., finished first in the 50-yard (25.47), 100-yard (54.82) and 200-yard freestyle (2:01.44) events in a dual meat victory over Sweet Briar College (141-108). The 2011 ODAC Swimmer of the Year also teamed with Elizabeth Buckley, Kelsey Bagley-Hall, and Elizabeth Plowman and swam the anchor leg to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.48.

Cassada, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., won a pair of individual events and helped the Generals to a relay victory in a conference dual meet against Bridgewater College. In helping W&L to a 148-101 win, Cassada finished first in the 50-yard freestyle (28.93) and the 200-yard backstroke. She also swam a leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay, helping the Generals to a 2:07.21 first place time.

Hardy, a sophomore from Cary, N.C., helped lead Washington and Lee to a second place finish at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational over the weekend. Hardy set in a new ODAC seasonal top time in winning the 200-yard freestyle. She touched the wall in 1:56.04, eclipsing the previous ODAC high by more than four seconds. Hardy participated in five other events as she finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (56.40) and joined her teammates in four relays: 400-yard medley (2nd - 4:0306), 800-yard freestyle (2nd - 8:00.22), 400-yard freestyle (3rd - 3:39.87) and 200-yard freestyle (5th - 1:41.10).

Babington, a freshman from Hillsboro, Ohio, earns her second straight ODAC weekly honor after helping the Yellow Jackets to a 140-122 win over Catholic University in Washington, D.C. Babington placed first in each of four events in which she competed on Saturday. She opened the meet with a relay win in the 400-yard medley (4:13.96). Babington then broke the Randolph-Macon College record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.50 for her first individual win of the day, which also set an ODAC seasonal top time. Babington picked up another individual win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.14) and finished the day as part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:46.26).

Babington, a freshman from Hillsboro, Ohio, broke a Prothro Natatorium pool (Sweet Briar) record that had stood since 1984 with a time of 1:16.89 in the 100-meter breaststroke (pool in short course meters). She was one of two Yellow Jackets to pick up four wins on the day. Babington also took individual wins in the 50-meter freestyle (28.95) and the 400-meter breaststroke (2:06.95) before winning the 200-freestyle relay.

Cassada, a junior from Charlotte, N.C., earns her second weekly honor of the season. Cassada swam in four events against Gettysburg, claiming wins in three events, while swimming exhibition in the final relay. She finished tops in the 100-yard backstroke with an ODAC seasonal-best time of 1:01.87. She went on to claim the other backstroke event, winning the 200-yard back in a time of 2:16.79. Cassada also swam a leg on the 200-yard medley relay team, helping the squad to a first-place finish (1:54.82). She was also part of the 200-yard free relay that recorded a time of 1:46.48 while swimming exhibition.

Salvati, a junior from Roselle Park, N.J., swam in five events during the three-day TCNJ Invitational over the weekend. She recorded two second-place finishes in the 400 IM (4:47.16) and 200 back (2:11.82), while taking seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 2:20.32. She was also a part of two relays, helping the 200 medley relay to a third-place finish (1:53.62) and the 400 medley relay to a fourth-place finish (4:10.61).
