ASHLAND, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College women's basketball coach Carroll LaHaye became the ODAC's all-time leader in basketball victories on Tuesday, regardless of gender. The Yellow Jackets 94-87 triumph in their ODAC opener at Bridgewater College marked the 612th win over LaHaye's career.

In her 37th season at Randolph-Macon, LaHaye is the ninth-longest tenured head coach at any one institution across all NCAA divisions. Her 612 wins surpass the previous ODAC-best mark of 611 victories by Susan Dunagan of Roanoke College. Dunagan coached the Maroons for 33 seasons before retiring in 2014.

Randolph-Macon women's basketball knows a little bit about setting records that span both the men's and women's games. In addition to LaHaye's wins total, former national player of the year, Megan (Silva) Schultz is the all-time leading scoring in conference history. She racked up 2,371 points from 2002-06, leading the Yellow Jackets to a national runner-up finish in 2005.

LaHaye's awards and milestones are numerous. Four times she has been honored as the ODAC Coach of the Year in 1994, 1996, 1999, and 2005. She has led R-MC to nine ODAC titles -- second-most in the conference -- including the 2018 crown. R-MC has won 14 games over its 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, double the number of victories by second-highest Roanoke.

LaHaye entered the season 28th across all NCAA divisions on the winningest coaches by victories list. Last season, she became the 59th coach in all divisions to reach 600 career wins. She is now 14th in NCAA Division in most wins by a head coach.
