Lindsey Burke will become the fifth head coach in Randolph-Macon College women's basketball history, as announced by Director of Athletics Jeff Burns on Monday afternoon.

Prior to the 2019-20 Division III basketball seasons, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced a continued partnership with the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund for supporting cancer research. For the third consecutive year, the ODAC men’s and women’s basketball programs spearheaded initiatives on their respective campuses in conjunction with select home games. Through those events, conference schools generated $8,900 of charitable donations to support both organizations, as well as a few other subsidiaries and causes. In the first three years of the partnership, more than $22,000 has been raised.

Randolph-Macon College center Kelly Williams put the cherry on top of an impressive career and comeback story from a season-ending injury a year ago as she was named an All-American by D3hoops.com earlier this week. Williams, who was named to the All-America Fourth Team, is the lone ODAC representative on the pundit's four squads plus honorable mention list.

The latter end of the ODAC's alphabet features in the final recognition bestowed by the conference this year as Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University are home to the 2018-19 Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Scholar-Athlete Award winners. Marlins women's basketball playmaker Jayla Harris earned the Berkley Award, while Generals cross country and track & field runner Hank Patrick received the Jopson Award following a vote of the conference's Board of Directors.

Virginia Wesleyan University has turned to veteran Averett University coach and Mary Washington Hall of Famer Liz Hudy as its new women's basketball head coach. Hudy replaces Stephany Dunmyer, who resigned after 16 seasons to become the next coach at Oberlin College.

Bridgewater College director of athletics Curt Kendall has announced the hiring of Sarah Gaffney as the College’s new head coach for the women’s basketball program.

Lynchburg College was eliminated from further competition in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament on Saturday evening, falling to host Christopher Newport University, 69-51, in second round action at the Freeman Center in Newport News, Va.

Marymount University held off a furious rally and defeated Guilford College Friday, 74-70, in a first-round NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament game.

The Randolph College athletic department is pleased to announce Andrea Kendall as the next head coach of its women's basketball team. Kendall, who replaces former six-year mentor Allison Nichols, was the head coach at Centenary College (N.J.) last season. She is no stranger to the ODAC, having previously served three seasons as an assistant at Emory & Henry College.

Reigning national player of the year Sydney Moss totaled a game-high 26 points, plus nine rebounds and eight assists, in top-ranked Thomas More College's 92-40 win over Guilford College in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament Saturday.

Guilford College rallied from a 12-point second-quarter deficit for a 61-57 win over the University of Mount Union Friday night in a first-round NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament game. Guilford outscored the Purple Raiders, 20-12, in the fourth quarter and closed the game on an 11-3 run.

EMU women's basketball player Jess Rheinheimer (Manheim, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) has won the prestigious Jostens Trophy. The award goes to just one women's and men's NCAA Division III basketball player who excels on the floor, in the classroom and in the community. The award takes into account three vital parts: basketball ability, academic prowess and community service.

Susan Dunagan, the winningest coach in the history of Virginia, has announced her retirement as coach of the Maroons after 33 years at Roanoke College. Dunagan steps down as both the school and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) career wins leader, with over 600 victories.

Shenandoah University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Zipp announced Monday that Melissa Kraft has been promoted to head women's basketball coach. Kraft, who was the Hornets top assistant this past season, becomes the 11th head coach in program history. She takes the position from C.K. Calhoun, who resigned two weeks ago to take a Division I assistant position.

Emory & Henry College and Director of Athletics Myra Sims are proud to announceAnne Wright Crutchfield as the College's next Head Women's Basketball Coach. Crutchfield, a 1989 graduate of E&H, returns to her alma mater after spending the past eight years as the Head Girl's Basketball Coach at Franklin County High School.

Bridgewater senior guard Jessica Mullen and Hollins senior guard Jasmine Greene earned All-South Region recognition as D3hoops.com announced its annual all-region awards. Mullen earned a spot on the second team, while Greene was tabbed to the third team.

Washington and Lee University Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that following a national search, Christine Clancy has been promoted to head women's basketball coach and assistant professor of physical education. She takes over for Mandy King, who resigned after the 2011-12 campaign.

Guilford College commanded a five-point lead at the break, but Centre used a 24-7 burst over 14 minutes of the second half to defeat the Quakers, 59-47, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. GC finishes the season 22-7 after making its first national postseason appearance since 2002.

Guilford College will be the lone ODAC representative in the 2012 NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The Quakers will head to Danville, Ky. for its first round matchup with the Colonels from Centre College. Also in the four-team pod is Washington University-St. Louis and Ferrum College. Play starts on Friday.

Emory & Henry College has selected Rose Katz as its next women's basketball coach, College officials announced Monday. Katz becomes the Wasps’ third head coach in the ODAC era. Katz comes to Emory from Widener University in Chester, Pa., where she has served as an assistant coach for the past three seasons.

The 2011 ODAC Player of the Year was named to the All-South Region First Team by D3hoops.com, and later earned selection to the 2011 State Farm Coaches' NCAA Division III All-America Honorable Mention Team by the WBCA.

Athletic Director Aubrey Shinofield has announced two changes within the athletic department at Hollins University. Richie Waggoner will be relinquishing his duties as basketball coach to devote all of his time to the office of sports information while Jim Phillips will move from assistant to head basketball coach for the upcoming season.

Randolph College has appointed Allison Nichols as the WildCats new head women’s basketball coach. Nichols, who will begin May 1, follows Melissa Wiggins, who coached the WildCats for 12 seasons. A Bridgewater College alum, Nichols has coached at both the Division I and II levels following a brief stint in the high school ranks.

Randolph-Macon College women’s basketball student-athlete Amanda Hiltunen has been awarded a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The award is a $7,500 scholarship for academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full-time or part-time graduate student.

Emory & Henry College's head women's basketball coach announced Monday that she is stepping down after 28 years of coaching E&H basketball teams to take on full-time teaching responsibilities at the college.

The ODAC split the ODAC-USA South Senior All-Star Basketball Games last weekend at Hampden-Sydney College, marking the third straight year the teams had each won a contest. The ODAC women evened their record at 2-2 while the ODAC men suffered their first loss in four tries.

For the third consecutive year, the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) and the USA South Athletic Conference will be bringing extra exciting basketball to the region. The ODAC/USA South Senior Basketball Challenge is set for this Sunday, March 16, at the Everett Gymnasium on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan College. The women’s contest is set for 1:00 p.m. with the men’s match-up following at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at the game.

Three ODAC schools are in preparation for play in this season's NCAA Division III Basketball Tournaments. Both Guilford College and Bridgewater College earned automatic qualifiers into the national tourneys after winning the ODAC men's and women's championships, respectively. The Virginia Wesleyan College men picked up an at-large bid in a vote by the men's basketball committee.

Jessica Timberlake hit a jumper with 0:29 seconds to play to complete an unlikely run through the ODAC Women’s Basketball Tournament as sixth-seeded Bridgewater College defeated #1 Virginia Wesleyan College, 57-56, to win its third conference championship. The Eagles, now 15-13 on the season, earn the ODAC’s automatic qualifier into the NCAA tournament. The Marlins bow out with a 22-6 overall record.

Greensboro College’s Staci Humphrey dropped in a team-high 17 points as the senior women from the USA South Athletic Conference defeated their counterparts from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), 84-77, in the second annual ODAC/USA South Senior Challenge.

Randolph-Macon College is the lone ODAC women’s squad in the 63-team field following its championship on Sunday afternoon.
