Bianca Ygarza, Eastern Mennonite, Sophomore, Forward
February 20, 2012Ygarza, a sophomore from Conestoga, Pa., picked up her second weekly award of the season after helping the Royals to three wins in the final week to lock up the second seed in the ODAC Tournament. Ygarza sliced her way to a career high 29 points in Friday's 88-59 triumph over Emory & Henry, going 11-15 from the floor, with eight rebounds. In Saturday's clash at Guilford, she again led all scorers with 19 points, hitting 8-of-12 shots. She also notched 12 points and eight boards in a week opening win against Randolph. In three games last week, Ygarza averaged 20.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, shooting 65% from the floor (24-37). Entering the postseason, Ygarza is 10th in the ODAC with 14.1 PPG, eighth with 7.2 RPG, second with 110 FTs, and second with a 56.4 FG%. -
Sarah Seipp, Virginia Wesleyan, Freshman, Guard
February 12, 2012Seipp, a freshman from Gaithersburg, Md., helped Virginia Wesleyan to a pair of ODAC victories last week, including an overtime victory over Eastern Mennonite to take over the top spot in the ODAC standings. Seipp, who has scored in double figures in 15 straight games, notched 19 points to go with seven rebounds and four steals in a 67-56 win over Lynchburg. She was 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. In the Marlins' 82-76 extra time win over EMU, Seipp scored the final six points of the game as she nailed a three-pointer and connected on 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch. She finished with 27 points, matching her career-high. She added six rebounds, three assists and two steals as VWC moved to 15-2 in ODAC play (18-4 overall).

Stephanie Rheinheimer, Eastern Mennonite, Sophomore, Guard
February 06, 2012Rheinheimer, a sophomore from Manheim, Pa., helped the EMU women go 3-0 and take over first place in the ODAC standings. On Tuesday, Rheinheimer notched a career best 19 points in a come-from-behind win over Randolph-Macon. She scored all of her points in the second half, including 10 during a decisive 23-3 game-ending run. Thursday, she scored 11 as she hit three triples, the fourth straight game in which she hit three or more from long range. Then on Saturday's at Roanoke, Rheinheimer scored the final five points of the contest, including the game-winning jumper with 12 seconds to play, giving the Royals a 45-44 win. She finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. For the week, Rheinheimer averaged 14.7 points with 2.7 rebounds. She was 8-for-19 from three point range for 42% and 10-for-10 from the free throw line. After averaging 8.3 points over the first 10 games of the season, Rheinheimer has scored in double figures in each of the last 10 games, averaging 14.6 points. She is also first in the ODAC in three point field goals and second in three point field goal percentage.

Taylor Wieczorek, Randolph-Macon, Senior, Center
January 30, 2012Wieczorek, a senior from Grasonville, Md., added two more doubles in a pair of Randolph-Macon conference wins to give her five on the season. Wieczorek, who averages a double-double during ODAC play (16.0 ppg, 10.4 rpg), helped the Yellow Jackets to road wins at Lynchburg (79-67) and Virginia Wesleyan (73-66). Against LC, she dropped in 23 points to go with 11 rebounds, six of which came via the offensive glass. She was 8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line. At VWC, Wieczorek shot 8-of-12 from the field and 1-of-2 from the stripe for 17 points paired with 15 boards. Overall, Wieczorek is averaging 14.3 points and 9.3 rebounds.

Jessica Mullen, Bridgewater, Junior, Guard
January 23, 2012Mullen, a junior from Purcellville, Va., picks up her third weekly award of the season after helping the Eagles to three wins over the past week. Mullen opened with a 14-point effort in non-conference action against Mary Baldwin (49-39). She came away with seven steals to go with five assists and four rebounds in that contest. On Wednesday, Mullen poured in 28 points as she made 11-of-15 free throws on the way to a 71-59 win over non-conference Frostburg State. She also had five steals and three assists. Mullen saved her best game for last as she notched her third 30-plus point game of the season with 32 points in a 71-59 win over Randolph-Macon. She shot 13-of-21 from the field, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Mullen currently leads the ODAC in scoring (18.1 ppg), field goals made (100) and steals (62).

Sarah Seipp, Virginia Wesleyan, Freshman, Guard
January 16, 2012Seipp, a freshman from Gaithersburg, Md., has emerged at VWC's leading scorer as a rookie as she has scored in double figures in 12 games this season, including each of the last eight contests. This week, she helped Virginia Wesleyan to a 3-0 record in ODAC play, highlighted by a career-high 27 points on the road against ODAC preseason title favorite Randolph-Macon College. The 27-point outburst is four shy of tying VWC rookie record (J. Lowery, 1977). Seipp did tie a VWC rookie mark, however, as she hit 10-of-14 free throws to match the record for freebies made (K. Thierault, 1987). Seipp added seven rebounds against R-MC. She continued her week with 17 points and nine boards versus Hollins, and then dropped in 14 points to go with nine rebounds against Roanoke. In all three games, Seipp made a trio of three-points on the way to a 9-for-17 showing from beyond the arc. Seipp currently averages 13.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Gabby Oglesby, Guilford, Sophomore, Forward
January 09, 2012Oglesby, a sophomore from Winston-Salem, N.C., helped the Quakers to the top of the ODAC standings by averaging 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game in Guilford’s 3-0 ODAC week. She shot 60-percent from the field (21-of-35) and 80-percent from the line (20-of-25). Oglesby opened the week with a modest 12 points to go with a game-high seven rebounds and three blocked shots in a road win at Hollins (88-64). On Friday, she matched her career-high with 26 points and blocked a school-record seven shots in a home win over Randolph-Macon (90-75). She also had a game-best 10 rebounds. In the second half against the Yellow Jackets, Oglesby notched 18 points, seven boards and six rejections, which helped the Quakers overcome a four-point halftime deficit. The win marked the Quakers’ first over R-MC since 2003, ending an 18-game losing skid. Oglesby capped her week with 24 points, nine boards and three blocked shots in a first-place showdown with Virginia Wesleyan (75-66). She again exploded in the second half, dropping in 16 points in the Quakers’ come-from-behind victory. Oglesby is averaging 16.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game during GC's current nine-game winning streak, the program’s longest since 2003.

Meg Ingram, Washington and Lee, Senior, Guard
January 02, 2012Ingram, a senior from Greensboro, N.C., helped the Generals to a 1-1 showing during the holiday break as she averaged 18.5 points over those two outings. Against Christopher Newport, Ingram's final two points of a 14-tally showing were the most important as she sank a pair of free throws with nine seconds to play to give the Generals a 51-50 win on the road. She also handed out five assists. In a loss to Ferrum, Ingram posted a game-high 23 points that included five makes from beyond the arc. For the season, Ingram is averaging 11.9 points per game.

Kala Yoders, Eastern Mennonite, Sophomore, Forward
December 19, 2011Yoders, a sophomore from Myerstown, Pa., continues to step up her play this season, as she scored her season high for the second straight game on Saturday. She also set a season-high in rebounds with her first double double, 20 points and 10 rebounds, as the Royals topped Shenandoah, 60-48. Yoders is now second on the team with 11.0 points per game and third with 5.9 rebounds a game. She is also seventh in the ODAC in defensive rebounds and ninth in field goal percentage.

Jessica Mullen, Bridgewater, Jr., Guard, Purcellville, Va.
December 13, 2011Mullen, a junior from Purcellville, Va., set a new career high for scoring for the second time this season with a 34-point effort in an 80-63 victory over Southern Virginia. Mullen went 14-of-22 from the field, including a 3-of-6 performance from beyond the arc to eclipse her previous career high of 31 points, set earlier this season at Lynchburg. She also chipped in six rebounds and a team-high four steals in the win. Currently, Mullen leads the ODAC in scoring with 17.1 points per game.

December 05, 2011Ygarza, a sophomore from Conestoga, Pa., ran her streak of scoring in double digits to six straight games and helped EMU to 6-0 record. For the week, she was an eye-popping 17-of-23 from the floor for 74% and hit 14-of-18 free throws. She nearly averaged a double double, coming in with marks of 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. She also had 10 steals and five assists in the three games. In Monday’s comeback win at rival Bridgewater, Ygarza had 18 points and tied a career best with 15 rebounds to go with seven steals. She added 19 points in the win over Roanoke, and another 11 against Hollins. She leads the ODAC with a 65.9 FG%, and is in the top ten in the ODAC in points, rebounds, steals, total free throws and free throw percentage.

Jessica Mullen, Bridgewater, Junior, Guard
November 28, 2011Mullen, a junior from Purcellville, Va., tossed in a career-high 31 points in Bridgewater’s lone game during Thanksgiving week to lead the Bridgewater Eagles women’s basketball team to a 74-68 victory over Lynchburg in the ODAC opener for both squads. Mullen was 10-of-17 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long-range, to lead the Bridgewater offense. From the charity stripe, Mullen was a perfect 9-for-9. The junior guard also chipped in two assists and a pair of steals on the evening. She is currently third in the ODAC in scoring (16.0) and free throw percentage (93.3).

Kristen Blalock, Virginia Wesleyan, Senior, Center
November 22, 2011Blalock, a senior from Suffolk, Va., picked up where she left off in 2011 as she led Virginia Wesleyan to a victory over N.C. Wesleyan in their opening game of the season. Blalock notched 24 points to go with five rebounds, a pair of blocked shots and a steal to help the Marlins secure the 125th career win for head coach Stephany Dunmyer. The 2011 All-ODAC First Team center connected on 9-of-16 field goals, including 1-of-2 three-pointers, and hit 5-of-8 free throws.
