Nine Players Named to All-Region Teams
FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University midfielder Christina Benedetti was selected as a Second Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). The Generals' senior, who also garnered ODAC Player of the Year honors earlier this month, heads a list of nine ODAC players that earned recognition on the All-Chesapeake Region Teams.

Benedetti, a senior from Derwood, Md., helped lead the Generals to their third straight and ODAC-record 13 overall women's lacrosse conference title. She was the midfield glue behind W&L's offense, defense and transition game. Offensively, she finished the season with 20 points on 15 goals and five assists. She forced 16 turnovers on defense, helping the Generals lead the ODAC with 169 goals allowed and 8.45 goals against average. Benedetti also recorded 68 draw controls, fifth-best in the ODAC, and picked up 40 ground balls. During her four years at W&L, Benedetti saw action in 65 games with 54 starts, and registered 34 goals, nine assists, 141 draw controls, 110 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers.
A team captain this season, Benedetti has played on three ODAC Championship teams (2010, 2011, 2012), and has helped the Generals claim a 57-20 overall record and a 33-1 mark in conference action.
