Interim Tag Removed as Bladen Named Randolph Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

LYNCHBURG, Va. --- The Randolph Athletics department is pleased to name Scott Bladen as the new head women's lacrosse coach. Bladen has been the interim coach since September.

"We are very excited to have Scott join our athletic program on a full-time basis," said Director of Athletics Tony Berich.  "He has been a tremendous asset to our men's lacrosse program and I know he will bring the same expertise, leadership and dedication to the women's program."

Bladen is already a familiar face at Randolph as he has been the assistant men's lacrosse coach for the past six years. He has served as both the offensive and defensive coordinator and has played an important role in recruiting.

"I am both excited and grateful to be named the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Randolph College," said Bladen. "I have been very fortunate to be a part of the Randolph College community for the past six years and the chance to continue my coaching career here as the Head Coach of the Women's program was an opportunity that I could not pass up. This team is comprised of a very special group of young women and I am excited to work together with them on a daily basis to reach our full potential on the field, in the classroom, and to have a positive impact in our community."

Previously, Bladen served as the head coach of the Forest Lacrosse Club varsity high school boys' program from 2011-12. During his two year tenure with FLC, the team compiled a record of 25-8, including a program best 13-2 mark in 2012 which culminated with the team's first berth in the Virginia High School Club State Championship Tournament. Scott has also been involved with the Forest Youth Athletic Association's youth lacrosse program as well as the Lynchburg Lumberjacks travel lacrosse teams for many years. For the last two summers, he has coached the Lynchburg Select travel program.

A native of Maryland, Scott played lacrosse at North Caroline High School in Ridgely, Md. He is a graduate of Liberty University with degrees in both Criminal Justice and Interdisciplinary Studies.
