Washington and Lee senior forward Anne Van Devender has been awarded a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. The award is a $7,500 scholarship for academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full-time or part-time graduate student.
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that Neil Cunningham has been promoted to assistant athletic director effective immediately. Cunningham will remain the school's women's soccer coach and director of physical education.
Virginia Wesleyan's Jackie Ochs-Gregory led three ODAC players on the NSCAA All-American Teams. The senior defender earned first team status while Lynchburg midfielder Ashley Hoath and Washington and Lee striker Anne Van Devender were tabbed to the third team.
Ithaca College scored two goals in the second half to lead the Bombers past the Lynchburg College women's soccer team 2-0 in the Sweet 16 round of the 2008 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament, hosted by Williams College.

Following a day in which VWC played 110 minutes in a NCAA first round matchup, Virginia Wesleyan fell by the slimmest of margins, 1-0, to Johns Hopkins in second round tournament action.

Virginia Wesleyan maintained the top spot in the ODAC womens soccer standings through the final week of play, earning the #1 seed into the leagues conference tournament. Lynchburg, Washington and Lee and Roanoke round out the top four seeds.
Only 15 points separate the first team from the fourth squad in the 2008 ODAC Womens Soccer Preseason Poll. Virginia Wesleyan picked up a half-dozen first place votes on its way to leading the annual coaches survey with 134 points. Lynchburg, the 2007 conference champion, collected 127 points and four top tallies with Roanoke and Washington and Lee each receiving one first place nod towards 123 and 119 points, respectively.
