Sweet Briar Selects Dahlin for Women's Soccer Post

SWEET BRIAR, Va. ---  Sweet Briar Director of Athletics Teresa Boylan has announced the appointment of Amy Dahlin as head soccer coach and lecturer in Physical Education effective August 3.

"Coach Amy Dahlin brings enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion to Sweet Briar Soccer and we are extremely pleased that she will be part of our team with the Vixen Athletics Department," said Boylan.  "Amy's coaching experience with travel teams and high school programs, as well as her having been a coach with Vixen Soccer, makes her the ideal person to take our program forward. I know Vixen Soccer is in good hands!"

Dahlin is no stranger to Vixen Soccer as she served as an assistant coach at Sweet Briar from 2011-2013, invovled in all aspects of team training, tactical analysis and game preparation and strategy.

"I am really thrilled to be back at Sweet Briar," said Dahlin.  "I look forward to reconnecting with the senior class that I have worked with before and building a great relationship with the our underclassmen.  Breaking ground on a new Sweet Briar and a new Athletic Department and welcoming new soccer players onto the most beautiful campus in the country will be a privilege."

Dahlin has also served as head coach at Appomattox County High School.  In short order, she turned that program around, moving from a 3-9 record to a 17-2-1 showing in just three years.

Vixen Soccer will begin their season September 5 when they host Christendom College.  Stay tuned to vixenathletics.com for more updates soon.
