Mertens, a junior from Succasunna, N.J., started her season off on fire with four goals in a pair of wins for Lynchburg at Roanoke College Kick-Off. Mertens opened her account in game one with both goals in a 2-0 victory over SUNY-Brockport. She then had a direct effect on the outcome in a 3-1 win over St. John Fisher College, scoring the second and third goals of the contest.

Shaylla Oswald, M, EMU: With just 2:30 to play, Oswald scored the lone goal of the match in a 1-0 win over Ferrum, completing her return from injury last season.

Morgan Wolfe, D, GC: Scored off a corner in a 6-0 win over William Peace and then assisted with a corner kick in a 4-0 triumph at John Wesley. Helped a defense that surrendered zero shots on goal.

Casey Kent, F, R-MC: Kent registered her first collegiate goal in her first game, opening the scoring in a 2-2 draw with St. Mary's (Md.).

Skyler Hayes, D, RC: Helped the defense hold a clean sheet and came forward to score the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 win over St. John Fisher.

Emily Yergin, F, SU: Last season's ODAC Rookie of the Year used her first goal of the season as the eventual game-winner in a 2-1 victory at Salisbury.
