Women's Tennis Player Profiled on "NCAA On Campus" Show
LEXINGTON, Va. --- Recent Washington and Lee
graduate Katie Kingsbury will be featured on ESPN later this month
in a show entitled "NCAA on Campus."
The show is set to air on ESPN Classic on June 20 at 1:30 pm EST
and will re-run several times on ESPNU. It can also be seen on the
NCAA website under the listing for "Media and Events" and then
under the listings for "Broadcasting."
The show will run a four to five minute feature about Kingsbury as
the female recipient of the NCAA's Walter Byers Scholarship and
includes interviews with members of the campus community.
A member of the 2007 NCAA Division III National Champion women's
tennis team at W&L, Kingsbury graduated last week with a degree
in psychology. She was one of just two recipients of the
NCAA's highest academic honor and has received numerous other
honors, including First Team Academic All-District, Academic
All-State, ODAC Women's Tennis Scholar-Athlete of the Year and
W&L William McHenry Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Kinsgbury established a W&L freshman record for wins in a
season (26-8) in 2004 and captured the ODAC No. 6 Singles title as
a freshman and sophomore. For her career, she notched a 64-17
singles record and a 27-8 doubles record.
