WLU Duo Falls in NCAA Quarterfinals

Caire and Tabb Come Up Short Against Denison Pair

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. --- The Washington and Lee women's tennis duo of senior Katie Tabb (Minneapolis, Minn./Edina) and junior Lauren Caire (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) fell in three sets in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Individual Championships on Saturday afternoon at the Collins Athletic Club.

Tabb and Caire, competing in the quarterfinals for the second-straight year, fell, 2-6, 6-3, 4-6 to Kristin Cobb and Marta Drane of Denison.

The duo finish the season with a record of 17-8 and their 47 total wins as a team are the fifth-most in W&L history. Additionally, Tabb's 108 career doubles wins tie her for the most in school history.

W&L completed the 2009 season with an overall record of 20-5.
