FREDERICKSBURG, Va. --- Washington and Lee senior women's tennis player Brooke Donnelly (Kennesaw, Ga. / Marietta) won the 2016 ITA Southeast Regional Championships singles bracket on Monday afternoon, hosted by Mary Washington.
Donnelly advanced to the championship round, after defeating first-year Sophia Strickland of Johns Hopkins, 6-1, 6-2. She went onto beat Johns Hopkins' senior Ashnaa Rao, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, in the championship round. With claiming the title, Donnelly is now a three-time All-American.
Sonja Meighan '14 was the last General to win the Singles Championship bracket at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships in 2013.
Donnelly will return to the court on October 13-16, when she travels to Surprise, Ariz., for the ITA Oracle Cup.
