Christina Harris, Lynchburg, So., #1 Singles. #1 Doubles

Harris, a sophomore from Falls Church, Va., picks up her second straight weekly honor after helping Lynchburg to a trio of team wins at the Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Harris competed at #1 singles in two matches and #1 doubles in all three outings, going a combined 5-0. She and teammate Caroline Guill won 8-1 in doubles play on the way to a 9-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan. Harriss took down Kalli Saffran, 6-0, 6-0, in singles play and joined Guill for an 8-2 decision in doubles action for a tight 5-4 triumph over St. John Fisher. Harris then defeated Emily Rutkowski, 6-1, 6-2, and partnered with Guill for an 8-2 result in doubles play on the way to an 8-1 team win over Eastern Nazarene.

Women's Tennis Weekly Honor Roll

Gaby Tersigni, R-MC: won 6-0, 6-0 at #1 singles and 8-0 at #2 doubles with Olivia Uzer in a 9-0 team win over PSU-Abington.

Carolyn Kitsock, RC: went 4-0 at #5 singles and 4-0 at #4 doubles in Roanoke's four team wins last week -- 5-4 over Baldwin Wallace, 9-0 over Catholic, 6-3 over Mount Union, 7-2 over Drew. Kitsock won 6-2, 6-1 over BWU, 6-4, 6-1 over CUA, 6-4, 6-0 over UMU, and 6-1, 6-1 over DU. Joined Janny Alvarado for all doubles matches -- 8-3 over BWU, 8-2 over CUA, 8-5 over UMU, and 8-5 over DU.

Makayla Velic, VWU: went 2-0 at #1 singles and 2-0 at #1 doubles in wins over PSU-Abington (8-1) and Guilford (9-0). Won 6-3, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 in singles matches. Joined Audrey Bally for 8-3 and 8-0 doubles victories.

Ashton Jenne, W&L: won 6-2, 6-0 at #4 singles and 8-1 with Lily Horsley at #2 doubles in a 9-0 win over Hollins.
