Tori Puryear, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Middle Hitter

Puryear, a senior from Madison, Va., spearheaded the Yellow Jackets effort in defeating 24th-ranked Christopher Newport, 3-1.  The Captains have eliminated R-MC from two of the past three NCAA tournaments, but the squads have split their last four meetings with CNU holding a 15-7 edge in the all-time series.  Puryear was the catalyst behind R-MC's latest win against CNU, this one coming at home.  Puryear hit .458 for the match with 12 kills and just one error in 24 attacks.  She notched five total blocks and two digs defensively while accounting for a team-high 14.5 points in the match.  Puryear currently leads the ODAC in block assists (60), total blocks (71) and blocks per game (1.11).

Volleyball Honor Roll

Megann Grimes, Bridgewater (Jr., Middle Hitter - Midland, Va.)
Grimes colelcted 28 kills and hit .352 in a 2-1 week for the Eagles.  She had 13 kills in a 3-1 win over Emory & Henry.  Grimes chipped in four aces -- all in a 3-0 win over Virginia Union -- three digs, and a pair of blocks.

D Probst, Eastern Mennonite (Sr., Outside Hitter - Willow Street, Pa.)
Probst collected 36 kills in the Royals 1-2 week, including a career-best 19 to go along with a personal-best 11 digs in a 3-2 win over N.C. Wesleyan.  She also had six blocks for the week.

Brittany Freeman, Guilford (Sr., Outside Hitter - Hendersonville, N.C.)
Freeman notched 41 kills in wins over Hollins, EMU and Methodist, incluidng a match-best 17 winners against HU.  Her 16 digs against Methodist accounted for the bulk of 30 for the week.

Amanda Perry, Lynchburg (Fr., Outside Hitter - Glen Ellyn, Ill.)
Perry led LC to a 2-0 week with 18 total kills and 16 digs.  She had 11 winners in a 3-0 win over Bridgewater.

Samantha Klostermann, Roanoke (Sr., Hitter - Roanoke, Va.)
Klostermann collected 23 kills in 3-0 wins over E&H and Mary Baldwin, including 16 to go along with 11 digs against the Wasps.

M.A. Boles, Washington and Lee (Sr., Outside Hitter - Houston, Texas)
Boles smacked 28 kills in W&L wins over Shenandoah, Hollins and Marymount (Va.), including 13 in a 3-1 win over the Hornets.  She also had 28 digs on the week, 11 each against SU and HU.
