Mariona, a sophomore from Greenville, S.C., helped the WildCats to five wins for the program's first five-match winning streak since 1997. That included a 4-0 run at the Maroon Classic at Roanoke College, where Mariona was named to the All-Tournament Team. She collected 59 total kills and hit .388 from her right side slot, averaging better than three kills per set. Four times she had double figure kills, including 16 with a .333 attack percentage in a 3-1 win over Methodist. She added 13 digs, four aces and five overall blocks. Mariona now has 105 kills and is hitting at a .248-clip on the season
Volleyball Honor Roll
Abby Mills, Bridgewater (So., OH - Fairfax,
Va.)
Mills gathered 34 kills and hit .244 with 17 total digs in the
Eagles 1-2 week. She had 15 kills and hit .375 in a 3-1 win
over N.C. Wesleyan.
Regan Cook, Eastern Mennonite (Fr., MH - Staunton,
Va.)
Cook collected 34 kills and 11 total blocks in the
Royals 1-3 week. She had 14 kills and hit .462 with four
blocks in a 3-2 win at Ferrum.
Kennady Thomason, Emory & Henry (So., M -
Chattanooga, Tenn.)
Thomason helped the Wasps to a 2-1 week with 28 kills while
attacking at a .543-clip. She also had seven total blocks.
Five of those came in a 3-2 win over Bluefield State, in
which she also registered 11 kills and hit .529.
Aricquel Payne, Lynchburg (Sr., OH - Woodbridge,
Va.)
Payne racked up 48 kills and hit .280 to aid the Hornets
in their 3-1 performance at the Maryville (Tenn.) College
Tournament. She added 29 digs, six aces and four blocks.
She had 20 kills and 17 digs in a 3-2 win over Oglethorpe.
She had three blocks in a 3-0 win over the host Scots, adding
10 kills.
Courtney Lowers, Randolph-Macon (Jr., OH - Suffolk,
Va.)
Lowers added 56 more kills to give her an ODAC-best
196 winners on the season as the Yellow Jackets went 3-2 last week.
She added 45 total digs. She had 17 kills and 15 digs
in a 3-2 win over Birmingham Southern. She added 15 winners
in a loss to Emory.
Macey Tyree, Roanoke (Sr., OH -
Daleville, Va.)
Tyree earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Maroon Classic after
collecting 27 kills to go with 35 digs and nine aces in the Marlins
3-1 showing. She had 15 kills and 19 digs in a five-set loss
to Meredith.
Elizabeth Lamont, Shenandoah (Fr.,
OH - South Riding, Va.)
Lamont racked up 16 kills and 22 digs with four aces and four
blocks in the Hornets' 2-1 week. She had 10 kills and 15 digs
in a 3-0 win over PSU-Altoona.
Alex Kinzer, Washingtona and Lee
(Jr., S - Greenville, S.C.)
Kinzer paced the Generals to a 3-0 week as she handed out 90
assists for a 8.18 per set average. She also collected 24
digs, five blocks and three aces, and picked her spots well on the
attack to the tune of 14 kills and a .619 attack percentage.
She recorded eight kills, 31 assists and six digs in a 3-1
win at Gallaudet.
