ODAC Athletes of the Week | Cross Country

FOREST, Va. --- A trio of events dotted the league schedule over the past week with roughly half of ODAC teams in action. Several conference top-5 times were established this weekend as runners continue their preparation towards the postseason. This weeks' ODAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Runners of the Week are Virginia Wesleyan junior Skyler Lattuca and Shenandoah senior Emily Miller.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Skyler Lattuca | Virginia Wesleyan | Jr.
Lattuca, a junior from Middle Island, N.Y., picks up his third ODAC Runner of the Week award after leading Virginia Wesleyan and all ODAC runners at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University. Lattuca improved upon his ODAC-best eight-kilometer time with a 25:12.40 showing in Salisbury, Md. He finished second overall out of 146 runners powered a by a 5:04.2 per-mile pace. His new ODAC top time is exactly 25-seconds ahead of Lynchburg's Andrew Johnson, who sits second on the chart.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Emily Miller | Shenandoah | Jr.
Miller, a junior from Gainesville, Va., went record hunting this weekend as she led Shenandoah at the Don Cathcart Invitational hosted by Salisbury University. Miller finished fourth overall in a field of 133 runners and third among Division III competitors on the six-kilometer course, posting a time of 22:10.9. That set a new Shenandoah record by 11-seconds at the Winter Place Park course in Salisbury, Md., snapping a mark that was established 10 years prior by Amy Smith. Miller's time is the ODAC's second-fastest 6K time of the season, chiming in just 0:01.00 shy of Calista Ariel's (BC) time at the ODAC Preview.
