Pernisi, a junior from Camden, New York, was victorious by a margin of 21 seconds in a mostly Division I-laden field at the Blue Ridge Open on Friday afternoon from Boone, NC. The women's cross country team also finished in fourth place. Pernisi ran the seventh fastest 5K time in school history as she clocked in with a time of 19:20 and breezed the second place finisher, Devotia Moore of Duke University, who finished in 19:41.
Women's Cross Country Honor Roll
Molly Smith, Bridgewater College, Freshman
Smith turned in a solid effort at the Gettysburg
Invitational, finishing 38th in a field of 285 runners.
She finished the 6K course with a time of 25:47.15. Smith was
25th among Division III runners.
Tessy Omina, Guilford College, Freshman
Omina paced Guilford with a 29th-place finish at the
Guilford College Quaker Invitational among 94 runners... completed
the six-kilometer course in 26:19.87, the second-fastest time in
school history.
Kelly Fauth, Virginia Wesleyan College, Sophomore
Fauth paced the VWC pack in the Guilford Invitational by
placing 14th in a field of 94 runners with a time of
24:24.16. She helped the Marlins to place 4th
overall in a field of 12 teams.
Kat Telfeyan, Washington and Lee University, Senior
Telfeyan placed 10th out of 289 runners with a
time of 24:24.23 at the Gettysburg Invitational.
