Lynchburg #1 for Second Straight Season
FOREST, Va. --- For the second year running, the University of Lynchburg went thru the conference's field hockey slate without a loss as the nationally 19th-ranked Hornets own the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Field Hockey Tournament. Competition was not lacking, however, as Lynchburg posted two one-goal victories including an overtime thriller against second-seeded Shenandoah. Both squads earn byes thru the quarterfinals for the second time in as many years.
Lynchburg, which has not lost to a conference opponent since November 4, 2017, when Washington and Lee posted a 2-1 overtime result in that season's league title game, will serve as the host for the conference's semifinal and championship weekend in the tournament's six-team structure.

Washington and Lee and Randolph-Macon will host quarterfinal games during the midweek. The Generals, playing as the #3 seed, will meet sixth-seeded Bridgewater in Lexington. The Yellow Jackets, as the fourth seed, welcome #5 Roanoke to Ashland.
The quarterfinals are set to begin on Tuesday, November 5, at times to be determined. Those two winners will join Lynchburg and Shenandoah in the Hill City for the semifinals and championship on Friday and Saturday, November 8-9.
