Guilford Wins 11th ODAC Golf Title

CAPE CHARLES, Va. --- Guilford College posted a 300 team score in the third round of the ODAC Golf Championship on Tuesday morning and afternoon to claim its 11th conference title.  The Quakers', ranked No. 1 in the country, shot a 897 three round total (303-294-300) to finish 33-over-par, 13 strokes clear of second place Bridgewater College (319-293-298--910).  Hampden-Sydney College leapt into third place with a final round 310 (307-307-310--924).

Bridgewater's Mike Redwood eagled the 18th hole on Tuesday finish a final round 67 and claim his second straight ODAC individual title, becoming the the first player in conference history to win the league tournament twice.  Redwood shot even-par (77-72-67--216) for the tournament, the only play not above par.  He bettered his 2010 winning score by five strokes.

Redwood's 67 was one of three rounds at par or better on the day.  Guilford's Noah Ratner and Mat Hennick fired rounds of 71 and 70, respectively, helping them to second and third place finishes overall.  Ratner, the 2011 ODAC Golfer of the Year, carded a 2-over 218 (75-72-71) while Hennick signed-off on a 4-over 220 (78-72-70).  Lynchburg College's Conrad Anguera chimed in with his third impressive round to finish fourth at 6-over-par (75-74-73--222), and Randolph-Macon's Max Wyndorf (72-77-76--225) and H-SC's Ronnie Fultz (75-72-78--225) tied for fifth at 9-over.
