Six Teams Set for ODAC Baseball Tournament

Shenandoah Earns Second Straight Top Seed

FOREST, Va. --- Shenandoah University (22-6-1 overall, 16-4 in ODAC play) secured the top seed in the ODAC Baseball Tournament for the second straight year, winning 16 league games as six schools prepare for four days of play at City Stadium in Lynchburg.  Action begins on Thursday and continues thru Sunday afternoon.

Virginia Wesleyan College (15-11, 14-6) is back in the tournament field for the first time since 2010, occupying the second seed after winning six more conference games than a season ago.  Randolph-Macon College (22-7, 13-7) secured the third seed, while reigning ODAC champion Bridgewater College (23-11-1, 12-8) plays out of the fourth position.  Roanoke College (16-13, 11-9) enters as the fifth seed.

Tiebreakers decided the final team in the tournament as Eastern Mennonite University (16-16, 10-10) and Lynchburg College (15-20, 10-10) each won 10 conference games.  The second step in the ODAC tiebreaking procedure broke the deadlock, awarding the Royals the sixth seed.  EMU will be making its first ODAC tournament appearance since 2002.

City Stadium, home of the minor league Lynchburg Hillcats, will play host to each of the tournament contests for the 10th consecutive season.  Play begins on Thursday, April 23 and runs through championship Sunday on April 26.  The first of Thursday's three games begins at 11:00 a.m.

Listed below is the schedule for the 2015 ODAC Baseball Tournament.  Due to the double elimination format, play on Saturday and Sunday could be altered depending on the number of teams remaining in the field (scenarios outlined on tournament website).
