Seeding Set for Women's Lax Tourney

Washington and Lee, lynchburg Earn First Round Byes

FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University enters the 2011 ODAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament as the top seed for the second-consecutive season.  The Generals boast an undefeated league record, which stands at 9-0, and a 12-4 overall mark.  Lynchburg College occupies the second seed 12-4 overall, 8-1 in league play.   The Generals and the Hornets receive byes into the semifinals.

Roanoke College (10-7, 7-2) earned the third slot and will host sixth seeded Randolph-Macon College (7-9, 4-5) in one of two quarterfinal contests.  The fourth seed belongs to Virginia Wesleyan College (9-7, 6-3), pitting the Marlins against fifth seeded Guilford (6-10, 5-4) in Virginia Beach.

Quarterfinal play begins on Saturday, April 30.  The winner of Roanoke/Randolph-Macon will travel to Lynchburg for a semifinal matchup.  Washington and Lee will play host to the Virginia Wesleyan/Guilford victor.  Both semifinals will be on Wednesday, May 4.  The ODAC Championship is set for Saturday or Sunday, May 7/8 at the campus of the highest remaining seed.
