ODAC Players of the Week

BASEBALL
Robert Gallet, Bridgewater, Jr.,
Pitcher
Gallet, a junior from Stafford, Va.,
went the distance for the Eagles in a 12-1 win over Roanoke in game
two of a double-header on Saturday. He allowed just two hits and
only walked one batter in giving up one run. He punched out 11
Maroons in the effort, marking a season-high for the Eagles'
righty. The win improved his season record to 5-3 with a 5.25
earned run average in 48.0 innings of work. The complete game was
his first of the season.

BASEBALL
Nick Fulk, Bridgewater, Jr.,
Outfielder
Fulk, a junior from Broadway, Va., hit
.417 in Bridgewater's 3-2 week as he went 10-of-24 with three
doubles, two triples, eight runs scored and seven runs batted in.
He also stole a pair of bases. He had a trio of multi-hit outings,
including a 4-for-4 day with a triple, two RBI and four runs scored
in a 19-2 win over Ferrum. He also went 3-for-6 in a 12-4 victory
at Eastern Mennonite. He smacked a pair of doubles and a triple on
the way to three RBI and a run scored. For the season, Fulk is
third in the ODAC with a .407 batting average. He also tops the
conference lists with 57 hits, 41 runs scored and 16 stolen
bases.

GOLF
Elizabeth Cheng, Hollins,
Junior
Cheng, a junior from Virginia Beach,
Va., was the top ODAC finisher at the Methodist Spring
Invitational, finishing tied for 11th in a field that included
second-ranked Methodist, according to the team rankings by
Golfstat. Cheng, rated 12th in the country individually by
Golfstat, opened with a first round 88, but recovered for a
five-over-par 77 in round two to finish +21 at 165. Cheng leads the
ODAC with a 78.7 strokes per round average.

MEN'S LACROSSE
Richard Lachlan, Roanoke, Sr.,
Attack
Lachlan, a senior from Port Coquitlam,
British Columbia, Canada, notched 11 points in helped the Maroons
two three victories, including two ODAC contests and one against
fourth-ranked Stevenson. Against the Mustangs, Lachlan beat the
keeper four times and assisted on another tally in RC's 14-13
triumph. He came back with three goals and another helper in a 22-3
conference win over Bridgewater. Over the weekend, Lachlan found
the back of the net on two straight goals, including the game-tying
score with 2:29 to play, as the Maroons' recovered from a four-goal
deficit in the fourth quarter with five unanswered goals to defeat
Hampden-Sydney, 12-11. For the season, Lachlan leads the ODAC with
39 goals scored towards 48 total points, which ranks third in the
league.

MEN'S TENNIS
Peter Hawkins, Bridgewater,
Senior
Hawkins, a senior from Silver Spring,
Md. led the Eagles to a 3-0 conference record with a perfect week
in singles and doubles play. At No. 1 singles, Hawkins won 6-4, 6-2
vs. Shenandoah and 6-1, 6-3 vs. Va. Wesleyan. In a battle for
second place in the ODAC, he rallied to defeat E&H's James
Keighley 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. At doubles, he was 3-0 with partner Sam
Churchill. The duo won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles vs. Shenandoah. At No.
3 vs. VMC, the duo took an 8-1 win. They also won at No. 3 against
E&H, 8-4. Hawkins is 8-1 at No. 1 vs. ODAC competition. He and
Churchill are undefeated in doubles play at No. 3.

OUTDOOR TRACK
Zander Tallman, Washington and Lee,
Junior
Tallman, a junior from Grand Blanc,
Mich., posted a new ODAC time top in a pair of events at the
Johnson C. Smith Invitational. He placed fifth in the 400-meter
dash with a time of 47.93, which is 1.24 seconds faster than the
next ranked runner in the ODAC. That time is also tied for fourth
in the country. Tallman also joined teammates Parker Howard, Dillon
Myers and Thomas Dunbar in the 4x400-meter dash. Tallman ran the
anchor leg to help the team to a third place finish with a new ODAC
top time of 3:20.05. That ranks 21st in the country. Tallman also
ran the 100-meter dash at the meeting, posting a personal
season-best time of 11.27 seconds.

OUTDOOR TRACK
Carmen Graves, Roanoke,
Senior
Graves, a senior from Christiansburg,
Va., continues to add her name to the top of the ODAC seasonal
performance list and the ODAC record book. At the Sea Ray Relays at
the University of Tennessee, Graves set a new conference best time
in the 800-meter dash in 2:09.3, her first running of the event
outdoors this season. That time is 5.03 seconds faster than the
next best time in the league, and currently ranks second in the
country, just 0.11 seconds short of the top position. Graves also
joined teammates Alease Kinney, Jessica Mejia and Alexis Janney in
setting a new ODAC record in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of
3:53.21. It eclipsed the previous record of 3:54.65 set by Graves
and teammates in 2010. It is also ranked fourth in the country. She
currently owns ODAC top times in three individual events (800m,
1,500m, 3,000m steeplechase) and is ranked in the top-10 nationally
in all three.

SOFTBALL
Stephanie Clark, Roanoke, Jr.,
Pitcher
Clark, a junior from Nathalle, Va.,
appeared in three games last week, posting a pair of complete game
shutouts along the way. She opened the week with a four-hitter in
game-one at Randolph. She worked around five walks with a pair of
strikeouts in the 6-0 win. She came back with a 4-0 win at
Lynchburg in game one. She gave up seven hits and walked one while
striking out three. She also recorded the last two LC outs of the
bottom of the sixth in a 4-1 game two loss. For the season, Clark
is 12-1 with a save and a 2.12 earned run average in 79-1 innings
of work. She leads the ODAC with six shutouts and is fourth with 12
complete games.

SOFTBALL
Kimberly Brady, Shenandoah, Fr.,
Outfielder
Brady, a freshman from Gainesville,
Va., helped the Hornets to a 4-0 week that included sweeps of
Stevenson and Emory & Henry. Brady hit .438 on a 7-of-16
showing from the dish with two doubles, three homers and four runs
batted in. She also scored five runs. In a doubleheader sweep of
Emory & Henry, Brady went 4-for-9 with three homers, four RBI
and four runs scored. She had a double in each game against
Stevenson, racking up three hits in seven at-bats against the
Mustangs. For the season. Brady is hitting .436 with 34 hits in 78
at-bats. She has nine doubles on the season.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Lily Colley, Guilford, Jr.,
Attack
Colley, a junior from Wells, Maine,
helped Guilford to a trio of wins last week that extended the
Quakers' school-record winning streak to 12 games. Colley notched
21 points on the week with 14 goals and seven assists. She also
picked up 10 groundballs, controlled 11 draws and caused seven
turnovers. In a win at Hollins to open the week, Colley notched
four goals and two assists. She followed that with four goals and
three assists in a 17-4 win over Shenandoah, which marked the first
conference loss in eight tries for SU. Colley capped her week with
six goals and pair of helpers in a 17-11 non-conference win over
Marymount (Va.). Colley is second in the ODAC in points (95), goals
(60) and assists (35). She is now fourth all-time at Guilford with
173 career points.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Katie Gordon, Bridgewater,
Junior
Gordon, a junior from Winchester, Va.,
helped the Eagles to a 3-0 record against ODAC teams last week as
Bridgewater defeated Sweet Briar, Virginia Wesleyan and Emory &
Henry. Gordon posted a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at #1 singles against SBC,
and then won 6-2, 6-1 from the top flight versus VWC. Against
E&H, she won at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Gordon was also 3-0 at #1
doubles, joining teammate Marla O'Bryan in topping SBC, 8-2, VWC,
9-8, and E&H, 8-3. Gordon is 15-2 this spring in singles
action, all from the top flight. She's 8-2 against league
opponents. Gordon is 15-3 in doubles action, all from the #1
position.
