FOREST, Va. --- Softball joined the fray of active sports over the past week-plus with indoor track continuing its season in preparation for the ODAC championships in a little less than two weeks. Those earning weekly awards in men's and women's indoor track & field and softball include (headshots, left-to-right, top-to-bottom): Davonta Womack (MITF) and Felicia Clements (WITF) from Bridgewater, Nikki Doherty (WITT) from Washington and Lee, Alex Shadkhoo (MITT) from Lynchburg, Cameron Derr (SBALL) from Emory & Henry, and Cortney Rawes (SBALL) from Lynchburg.

MEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Davonta Womack | Bridgewater | Sr. | Jumps
Womack, a senior from Salem, Va., continues to perform at an All-American level regardless of the event in which he competes following a strong outing in the long jump at the VMI Indoor Classic. Womack finished third overall and first among Division III competitors in the multi-divisional event, posting a new ODAC season-best mark of 7.15 meters (23-5.50). That is the third-longest jump in Bridgewater history and ranks eighth in the country.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Alex Shadkhoo | Lynchburg | So. | Sprints
Shadkhoo, a sophomore from Herndon, Va., put his national-level speed on display at the VMI Indoor Classic over the weekend. Shadkhoo lowered his ODAC leading time in the 200-meter dash to 22.17-seconds following conversion for conference and NCAA rankings. His on-track time of 21.78-seconds is a new Lynchburg record. His converted time is tied for seventh in NCAA Division III. Shadkhoo also competed in the 4x400-meter relay, which finished 15th at 3:26.28, which converts to 3:29.58 for ODAC and NCAA rankings.

WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Felicia Clements | Bridgewater | Sr. | Jumps
Clements, a senior from Wolfsville, Md., picks up her second weekly honor following a strong showing in the high jump at the VMI Indoor Classic. Clements finished third overall as the only Division III athlete in the elite section of the competition. She cleared 1.65 meters (5-5.0), which is only 0.02 meters off her previous ODAC season-best and Bridgewater record mark.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Nikki Doherty | Washington and Lee | Sr. | Springs/Hurdles
Doherty, a senior from Arlington, Mass., picks up her second weekly award of the season after a strong showing in a pair of events at the VMI Indoor Classic. Doherty was the top Division III competitor in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. She finished 10th overall in the hurdles at 9.11-seconds. That time is second only to her previous ODAC season-best mark of 9.08-seconds. Her more recent time would rank around 37th nationally. Doherty chimed in 22nd in the 200-meter dash in 26.13-seconds. When converted for ODAC and NCAA rankings, her time of 26.54-seconds is second in the ODAC and second-fastest in Washington and Lee history.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Cameron Derr | Emory & Henry | Jr. | Pitcher
Derr, a junior from Cornelius, N.C., appeared three times last week including two starts against nationally ranked competition. Derr opened her season against nationally 15th-ranked Birmingham Southern College. She twirled a two-hit shutout against the Panthers in a full 7.0 frames of work. She walked four and fanned 14 batters including six of the first nine batters after striking out the side in the bottom of the first. Derr then work 1.0 frames of relief against Mt. St. Joseph, giving up three unearned runs in a 7-4 setback. Derr's last appearance marked her second start of the season, this time against nationally 24th-ranked DePauw University. She gave up three runs on six hits with two walks and seven punchouts in her second full shift of the week. After giving up two runs in the first, she surrendered just two hits over the next five innings.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cortney Rawes | Lynchburg | Fy. | Outfielder
Rawes, a first-year from Appomattox, Va., put together a strong first few games to start the 2020 season, including a walk-off effort to help the Hornets to a 3-1 beginning to the schedule. Rawes went 5-for-8 with a double, two RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base in three appearances. She doubled in her lone at bat in a 1-0 setback to William Peace. Rawes went 4-for-7 in a sweep of Methodist, beginning with a 2-for-3 showing with a stolen base and a run scored in a 4-0 win in game one. She went 2-for-4 in game two with the latter of her two hits a walk-off two-run single with one down in the seventh inning for a 3-2 victory over the Monarchs.
