Conference Honors 2,681 Student-Athletes

FOREST, Va. --- Records were meant to be broken and ODAC student-athletes are adept at establishing new benchmarks evidenced by a league all-time high 2,681 scholar-athletes earning recognition on the 2019-20 ODAC All-Academic Team. This is the third time in the last four years that the list of honorees has eclipsed 2,000 individuals. The previous record of 2,120 was set last year.

Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade point average for the academic year to be considered for an ODAC All-Academic Team recognition.

A dozen ODAC member schools saw 100 or more student-athletes represent their colors on the ODAC All-Academic Team. That includes four institutions with more than 200 honorees. Washington and Lee University topped the chart with 449 earning academic distinction. The lists for Shenandoah University, Randolph-Macon College, and the University of Lynchburg featured 270, 263, and 239 individuals, respectively. Roanoke College (190), Guilford College (182), Bridgewater College (180), Virginia Wesleyan University (171), Ferrum College (150), Emory & Henry College (132), Eastern Mennonite University (118), and Hampden-Sydney College (110) round of the contingent that surpassed the century mark.
