ODAC Athletes of the Week | Indoor Track & Field, Soccer

FOREST, Va. --- The second day of ODAC honors for week six of the spring season features men's and women's soccer for the first time this season. Indoor track & field is also highlighted in this edition. Tuesday will be the new reporting day for each of these sports -- including when indoor track & field switches to outdoors -- for the remainder of the 2021 season. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards include (pictured from top and left): Evan Blow from Randolph men's soccer, Adalia Coleman and Chase Rosenthal from Bridgewater women's and men's track & field, Isaac Alderfer from Eastern Mennonite men's track & field, Sydney Davis from BC women's soccer, and Bailey Casto from Lynchburg women's track & field.

Below are entries for all six winners from today's multi-sport release. Wednesday will feature ODAC golf for the first time this season. Stay tuned for that awards report.

WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Bailey Casto | Lynchburg | Jr. | Pole Vault/Sprints
Casto, a junior from Evington, Va., picks up her third weekly honor of the season after yet again improving upon a season-best ODAC mark among three events competed at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Casto improved upon her conference top clearance in the pole vault by eclipsing 3.42 meters (11-2.50) to win the event. That ranked fourth in Lynchburg program history and stands 10th in NCAA Division III. Casto also competed in the 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay. She finished sixth in the 400-dash in a new personal-best time of 1:02.85, which ranks fourth in the ODAC. She helped the Hornets to second in the 4x4-relay in 4:14.00, which tops the ODAC chart.

MEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Chase Rosenthal | Bridgewater | Sr. | Jumps
Rosenthal, a senior from Chesapeake, Va., moved the ODAC triple jump charts after a strong showing at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Rosenthal won the event with a leap of 13.63 meters (44-8.75). That mark, which out-paced second place by more than three feet, is second-best in the ODAC and ranks 21st in NCAA Division III. He was one of only two ODAC male competitors in field events to capture a top-two conference mark at the meet.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Adalia Coleman | Bridgewater | Fy. | Sprints
Coleman, a first-year from Warrenton, Va., made the most of her first collegiate meet with an event win and a fourth place finish in two sprints at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Coleman ran 8.02 seconds in the 60-meter dash prelims and then bettered that with a 7.93-second showing in the finals to win the event. Her finals time is not only tops in the ODAC, but ranks 14th in the NCAA Division III and third in Bridgewater program-history. Only former Eagles stars and national qualifiers Amber Celen and Emily Valle have run faster in the event. Coleman added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 26.65-seconds, which ranks third in the ODAC and 35th in the country. It is also eighth-best in BC history.

MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Isaac Alderfer | Eastern Mennonite | Jr. | Mid-Distance
Alderfer, a junior from Broadway, Va., continued his strong season in the mid-distance events at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Alderfer improved upon his ODAC-best time in the 800-meter run by winning the event in 1:54.76. That time broke his own Eastern Mennonite program record by 0.21-seconds from his final run in 2020 season. That time also improved his position to eighth on the NCAA Division III season chart. Alderfer competed in the 3,000-meter run for the first time in his collegiate career, placing fourth overall and second in Royals history at 8:54.45. That time sits sixth in the ODAC this season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydney Davis | Bridgewater | Sr. | Goalkeeper
Davis, a senior from Arlington, Va., helped the Eagles get their season started off on the right foot with a 1-0 victory on the road at Virginia Wesleyan. Davis stood tall between the sticks, making eight saves against 16 total shots faced. It marked the 14th shutout of her career and fifth career outing with eight or more saves. Davis owns career marks of 149 saves, a .828 save percentage, and a 0.84 goals-against-average.

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Evan Blow | Randolph | Sr. | Forward
Blow, a senior from Charlottesville, Va., unleashed a school record-setting performance to help the WildCats open up the spring season with an 8-0 victory over Emory & Henry. Blow set a new Randolph standard for goals in a game with four tallies. He registered the second goal of the game and then three of the Wildcats five goals in the second half. The eight goals for Randolph are the most in program history against an ODAC opponent. For his career, Blow has racked up 35 points on 12 goals and 11 assists. The win over the Wasps marked his first collegiate multi-goal game.
