FOREST, Va. --- Track & field was inactive over the past week, leaving men's and women's soccer as the feature of today's ODAC weekly report. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards include (pictured from top and left): Luke Mega and Taylor Smith from Lynchburg men's and women's soccer.
Below are entries for both winners from today's release. Stay tuned for ODAC weekly golf awards on Wednesday.

MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Mega | Lynchburg | So. | Forward
Mega, a sophomore from Glen Allen, Va., was on-point for Lynchburg as the Hornets opened the 2021 spring regular season with a 6-0 victory at Eastern Mennonite. Last season's ODAC Rookie of the Year tallied five points in the game with two goals and an assist. He assisted on the game's first goal by Ben Mackey, and then added two second-half goals within 58-seconds of each other to help Lynchburg open 1-0 on the season.

WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Smith | Lynchburg | Jr. | Midfielder
Smith, a junior from Chesapeake, Va., was the ultimate playmaker for Lynchburg last week as she assisted on five of the Hornets seven goals in a pair of victories. In a 4-1 victory over Piedmont College, Smith provided the incisive pass on Lynchburg's final three tallies. She was again integral in the Hornets' 3-0 win over Guilford. She assisted on Lynchburg's first and last goals to finish the week with five total points. Smith leads the ODAC thru three games with seven points with this week's five assists adding to her goal at Emory & Henry in the season-opener.
