ODAC Athletes of the Week | Baseball, Football, Lacrosse, Softball, Tennis

FOREST, Va. --- Reporting for week 12 features some of the strongest competition of the ODAC spring season. Those earning ODAC Athlete of the Week awards include (pictured from top and left): Jaylon Lee from Eastern Mennonite baseball, Danielle Stewart from Virginia Wesleyan softball, Evan Parks from Roanoke baseball, Brantley Swift from Bridgewater softball, Isaiah Farmer from BC football, Blake Page from Hampden-Sydney football, Kelsi Trevisan from Lynchburg women's lacrosse, Jake Brummett from H-SC men's lacrosse, Gabi Moss from Washington and Lee women's tennis, and Mitchell Perry from VWU men's tennis.

Below are entries for all 10 winners from today's multi-sport release. Stay tuned for track & field, soccer, field hockey, and volleyball awards on Tuesday followed by golf honors on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brantley Swift | Bridgewater | So. | Pitcher
Swift, a sophomore from Reedville, Va., earned three victories in three complete game starts last week including a stellar effort to help Bridgewater defeat nationally fourth-ranked Christopher Newport University. Swift opened with a seven strong frames in a 6-2 win at Eastern Mennonite. She gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits without a walk and five strikeouts. She followed that with a second seven-inning effort in a 6-1 win over Shenandoah. She surrendered one unearned run on five hits. She did not walk a batter for a second straight game and fanned four Hornets. Swift again allowed just five hits in winning at CNU, 2-1. She gave up one run and walked one with a pair of strikeouts over seven frames. For the season, Swift is 4-0 with an ODAC-best 0.68 ERA. She has walked just three batters and fanned 12 in 31.0 innings in the circle. Bridgewater stands atop the ODAC standings at 9-1 overall and 6-0 in league play.

BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Evan Parks | Roanoke | Jr. | Pitcher
Parks, a junior from Roanoke, Va., was strong in a pair of outings last week. Parks started and threw the first three innings in a 9-1 win over Guilford. He gave up one run on four hits without a walk and three strikeouts. He was stellar in his second start of the week, pitching into the 10th inning in the Maroons 3-2 win over nationally 13th-ranked Shenandoah University in 10 innings. Parks gave up two runs on four hits in 9.0 frames. He walked three and struck out four. He kept SU off the scoreboard until a two-run homer in the ninth inning. After a lead-off walk, he set down seven batters in a row and then enjoyed a run of eight straight outs into the sixth inning. He again set down eight straight Hornets before a lead-off walk in the ninth. For the season, Parks is 1-2 in seven appearances including six starts. He owns a 3.86 ERA with seven walks and 25 strikeouts in 25.2 innings of work.

SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Danielle Stewart | Virginia Wesleyan | Sr. | 1st Base/Utility
Stewart, a senior from Centerville, Md., blistered at the dish in the nationally second-ranked Marlins 3-1 week. Stewart slashed at .692/.714/.846 with a pair of doubles, eight RBI, and four runs scored over the four contests. She started with a single and walk to go with two RBI in an 8-0 win in game one of a doubleheader split at #23 Randolph-Macon. In game two, she singled and drove in two runs in the Yellow Jackets' 5-4 win. Stewart was a perfect 7-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of Ferrum on the weekend. She was 3-for-3 from two RBI, two runs scored, and a stolen base in a 12-0 win in game one. In game two, she went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored towards a 16-8 triumph. For the season, Stewart is slashing .422/.500/.594. She is second in the ODAC in hits (27), third in total bases (38), and fourth in doubles (6) and RBI (18).

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jaylon Lee | Eastern Mennonite | Sr. | Centerfielder
Lee, a senior from Newport News, Va., powered Eastern Mennonite to a 2-1 week by slashing .538/.571/.1.385. Lee went 7-for-13 with five extra-base hits including a double, two triples, and two homers to go with 11 RBI, seven runs scored, four stolen bases, and a walk. He put together one of the statistically best games in EMU history in an 18-11 win over Washington and Lee. He went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a three-run blast on the way to eight RBI with three runs scored and two stolen bases. In a doubleheader split at Hampden-Sydney, Lee went 4-for-9 with three RBI and four runs scored. He was 3-for-4 in game one with a double, two triples, two RBI and two runs scored in the Royals' 6-2 win. In a 10-9 setback in game two, EMU's centerfielder singled and drove in a run with a run scored, a walk, and two stolen bases. For the season, Lee leads the ODAC in slugging (.939) and is third in batting (.455) and homers (3). He is fifth in on-base percentage (.524) and triples (2).

FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Isaiah Farmer | Bridgewater | So. | Linebacker
Farmer, a sophomore from Clover, S.C., helped the Bridgewater defense hold Shenandoah to just 14 points and 325 yards of total for a 22-14 win in their third matchup of the season and the final game for retiring head coach Michael Clark. Farmer posted nine tackles with four solo and one tackle for a loss that cost Shenandoah three yards of offense. He broke up one pass, but his biggest play helped seal the Eagles victory. On the ninth play of SU's final drive, Farmer intercepted the Hornets' signal-caller at the 13-yard line and returned it to the 28 with 1:14 to play and lead to pair of kneel downs before the final horn. For the season, Farmer finished with 32 tackles (15 solo) with 2.5 TFLs and one interception.

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Blake Page | Hampden-Sydney | Sr. | Wide Receiver
Page, a senior from Richmond, Va., picks up the second ODAC weekly award of his career after helping Hampden-Sydney close the first spring campaign in ODAC history with a 49-21 win over Ferrum College. Page caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the contest. Each of his receptions went for 20 or more yards as he averaged 30.3 yards per catch. He and quarterback Tanner Bernard connected on a 33-yard pass play 59-seconds into the second half. They then hooked up on a 20-yard TD pass with 0:42 to go in the third quarter. Page added receptions of 46 yards and 22 yards to his line. For the season, Page finished with 11 catches for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kelsi Trevisan | Lynchburg | Gr. | Attack
Trevisan, a graduate student from West Chester, Pa., put together a pair of strong games to help Lynchburg to two ODAC victories. Trevisan opened with three goals and an assist in a 16-1 win over Ferrum. She opened the game's scoring with a free-position effort just 4:31 into play. She assisted on Nicki Santora's goal with 2:18 to go in the first half, and then found the net twice in the second half. Trevisan added a pair of cause turnovers and a ground ball. She notched both of those latter numbers again in the Hornets' 21-8 win at Bridgewater. She scored three more times and dished out a trio of assists. She notched all six points in the first half against Eagles, helping Lynchburg to a 13-1 halftime edge on the way to improving to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in ODAC play. For the season, Trevisan is second in the ODAC in points (37) and goals scored (27). She is fourth in assists (10) and caused turnovers (11). She is now seventh on Lynchburg's all-time goals scored list (140).

MEN'S LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jake Brummett | Hampden-Sydney | Sr. | Face-Off Specialist
Brummett, a senior from Glen Rock, Pa., continues to live up to his All-America status from Inside Lacrosse last season as the Hampden-Sydney face-off man won 29-of-33 (.879) of his showdowns in the circle last week. Brummett was 16-of-20 on face-offs in the Tigers' 18-7 win in the rain at St. Mary's College (Md.). He picked up 11 ground balls and registered a caused turnover. Last year's leader in face-offs won (95) was perfect in H-SC's 18-6 win over Ferrum. He went 13-of-13 against the Panthers, again picking up 11 ground balls. For the season, Brummett is first in the ODAC in ground balls (87) and second in face-offs won (122-of-184 - .663).

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabi Moss | Washington and Lee | Fy. | #1/2 Singles | #2/3 Doubles
Moss, a first-year from Paradise Valley, Ariz., earns her second straight weekly award after helping nationally 18th-ranked Washington and Lee to a pair of team wins last week including a triumph over #33 Christopher Newport University. Moss and the Generals started their week with a 6-3 win over Randolph College. Moss and Becket Waters won 8-0 at #2 doubles over Heather Whetzel and Cassidy Bell. Moss added a 6-0, 6-0, win at #1 singles over Zu Elkhansa. In W&L's 6-3 win over CNU, Moss and Claire Lacksen teamed up for an 8-6 win at #3 doubles over Kiersten Chang and Megan Bauer. Moss topped Tessa Trate, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 1-0 (11-9) in #2 singles action. For the season, Moss is 9-0 overall including 5-0 in singles play and 4-0 in doubles matches.

MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mitchell Perry | Virginia Wesleyan | Sr. | #1 Singles | #1 Doubles
Perry, a senior from Johns Creek, Ga., helped Virginia Wesleyan pick up a 7-1 ODAC victory over Randolph College. Perry and Felix Bevc teamed up to earn an 8-4 win at #1 doubles over Alex Kulvivat and Nico Alvarado. Perry then earned a 6-0, 7-5, win over Alvarado at #1 singles. Perry is now 3-3 overall in singles matches and 5-2 with Bevc in doubles action.
