Bridgewater Men’s Basketball Beats Emory & Henry, 109-90, Saturday Afternoon

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Bridgewater College Men's Basketball Team (7-15, 3-10 ODAC) picked up a 109-90 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (5-17, 2-11 ODAC) Saturday in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry opened the game, going up 12-8, but Bridgewater responded to take the lead, pushing the first-half margin to 33-24. The Wasps went on a 7-2 run to close the gap to four (35-31) with 7:41 left in the half, but 10 of the next 11 points went the way of the Eagles for a 45-32 advantage.
- Bridgewater led by a 54-40 score with 1:19 left in the half before E&H closed it to 10 (54-44) with the final four points of the period.
- The Eagles pulled away slowly during the second half with a 12-4 run with 4:44 left to play extending the lead to 101-81. BC cruised to the final horn for the 109-90 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) posted 35 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead all players. He went 12-for-28 on the afternoon with four makes from three-point range.
- Four players scored 12 points for the Wasps led by freshman guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) who added seven rebounds and one assist off the bench. Sophomore guard Anthony Williams (Lynchburg, Va.) tallied 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.
- Freshman Micah Banks (Concord, N.C.) had 12 points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals while freshman forward Dylan Catron (Chilhowie, Va.) went for 12 points, four boards and two blocks.

Bridgewater Individual Leaders
- Chandler Murray had 31 points on 11-for-16 shooting while Daviron Grier scored 22 points and added seven rebounds.
- T.J. Turner posted 16 points off the bench as Jalil Langston and Monte Simpkins put up 11 and 10 points, respectively.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 47.3 percent (35-for-74) for the game with 10 three-pointers. The Wasps hit 10-of-16 (62.5%) of their free throws.
- Bridgewater hit 40-of-70 (57.1%) of its shot including 14 from long range and was an efficient 15-of-18 (83.3%) at the stripe.
- E&H held a 40-34 rebounding advantage, outscoring BC 23-14 on second-chance points.
