The Lead: The Maroons drop two close games against the Pride of Greensboro. Game one went into extra innings where the Pride was able to bring in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to make the score 2-1. Game two would see the Pride pull out a 2-0 win against the Maroons.

Highlights:

• After four scoreless innings in the top of the fifth the Maroons were able to put up one run against the Pride that was a result of a error from the short stop.
• The Pride was able to tie up the game in the bottom of the sixth with a leadoff double and then a weak hit into the right side of the field.
• As the game entered the ninth inning ITB the Maroons were still battling for the lead. Unfortunately, they were able to obtain the lead and the Pride took advantage and scored the winning run on a single into left field.

Highlights:

• Game two started off similar to game one with scoreless innings until the bottom on the fourth. The Pride were able to take the lead with a single into right field with scored both runs of the game.
• The Maroons battled from behind the entire game but were unable to piece together hits to overcome the pride.
• Morgan Clark and Adriana Rivera produced four of the seven hits that were recorded in game one.

Up next: The Maroons will host the No.2 Captains of Christopher Newport on Friday, March 31^st at Botetourt Sports Complex. Game times will be at 3:00pm and 5:00pm
