The Lead: The Roanoke women's soccer team made the trip north to Winchester to face Shenandoah University on the final day of the 2021 regular season. A late first half goal would give the Hornets the lead at the break. After another score in the opening stages of the second half, Shenandoah would go on for the 2-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win.

Highlights:

  • Eight minutes before the halftime break, the Hornets would put a goal on the board and take the 1-0 advantage into the half.
  • Right before the halftime horn, a shot by Logan Tyler would be blocked by the Hornet defense and the lead stayed a 1-0.
  • Just over a minute into the second half, another Shenandoah score would give the home team a 2-0 lead.
  • Despite nine of the Maroon's 10 shots being on target, Roanoke was unable to score as they fell, 2-0, to Shenandoah.
  • Carrington Lippi recorded five saves for the Maroons while SU keeper Karissa Dominick was credited for eight saves.
