Roanoke Men’s Soccer Tops Emory & Henry On Senior Day

EMORY, Va. – The Roanoke College Men's Soccer Team (2-1-3, 2-1-3 ODAC) opened up a 2-0 halftime lead on its way to scoring eight goals in a win at Emory & Henry College (0-7, 0-7 ODAC) Saturday afternoon in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference finale for both squads.

The match also served as Senior Day for the Wasps who honored Jeff Hurlock (Fredericksburg, Va.), Jackson Kaze (Midlothian, Va.), C.J. Poulsen (Roanoke, Va.), Jack Randalow (Chesterfield, Va.) and Bryce Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) prior to kickoff.

How It Happened
- Roanoke got on the board in the 16th minute when Liam Camilleri converted a penalty kick.
- With 3:21 to go before the intermission, the Maroons made it 2-0 as Michael Chang scored from outside the 18-yard box.
- Coming out of the break, the RC scored at the 48:29 mark when Jake Berecz found Nathan Carey with a pass across the six-yard box for the score. A second goal by Liam Camilleri three and a half minutes later and a score by Gabriel Hendi early in the 56th pushed the advantage to 5-0.
- Carey found the back of the net again in the 59th minute as the Maroons scored two more in the final half hour for the 8-0 margin.

- Emory & Henry has completed its regular season schedule and will now await the conclusion of the conference season on Sunday. The ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament will feature eight teams with quarterfinal action to begin on Tuesday.
